Really relaxing - beautiful setting

Stayed just one night - en route to plane from Hamburg airport...very tranquil surroundings and nicely converted with very helpful and friendly professional staff. The room was really comfortable and provided a good night's sleep with two good armchairs. I would probably say 4 and a half stars - but feel it is only fair to round up to 5 as the hotel arranged for an incredibly helpful member of staff, Daniel, to drive my to the station at Echem when the bus didn't arrive as scheduled. I am truly grateful for this. The prices are very reasonable - and it would be a very nice place for exploring some of the lovely countryside and old towns around Lower Saxony and into Schleswig Holstein. Thank you to all the staff at Schloss Ludersburg.

Price mistake?

If you have any hopes of actually sleeping in the bigger house they call a castle at the end of the gravel walkway- forget it. You sleep in what might have been the stables or workers accommodation. Nicely restored brickbuildings void of any prior guests. Considering that it is low season and a fact to consider one must, however, sound the Rip-Off alarm when there is on a very scaled down but okey menu, a buffet consisting mostly of beats, cabages, potatoes etc for 39 Euro!!!! Whoa!! Hold your horses folks! That is so NOT OKEY. Service was decent and rooms large and clean. Breakfast just a notch above standard.

We ordered a golf package - fairly priced - which included; 2x nights w./ breakfast 2x three course dinner 2x golf round incl. buggy Great hotel room in the 'Staples' wing near the reception and just above the 'Land sauna'. At arrival the spacious room was very clean and welcoming. Not quite the same at departure though, but it was self inflicted. Breakfast was nice and plenty although complementary Champagne/Crémant would have taken the experience a bit further. Keeping the price for the stay in mind, the three course dinner was delightful. The golf experience itself... In all honesty there is a lot of work to be done on both courses. Fairways and greens leave much to be desired. It's early season yes, but the reason for the poor condition seems to go beyond unfortunate weather conditions. On the upside a little bird was singing about plans of redoing greens in the coming year. Hopefully the management will prioritize to get this done sooner rather than later. With that said the layout and diversity of the two courses are great. Finally I have to 'go back to Greece'; My self awareness is sometimes poor but I do know that I can be a 'high maintenance' (but fair) guest at times. A very special thanks goes to Elena in the hotel reception for being warmly welcoming, service minded in a natural way, well spoken, charming and very helpful. Congratulations to Schloß Lüdersburg for hiring such an asset. We will see you all again when the time is right.

We just stayed overnight. Chose this area as we wanted to stay away from Hamburg and the awful roadworks. It was a very good choice. Easy to reach from the motorway, it is located in the countryside. The hotel has a golf course, so the grounds are extensive and well kept. We stayed in the old Schloss. Very large, comfortable room, but was a little warm as the window catches weren’t all working in order to keep the windows open. The bathroom had an over bath shower but, with the fixed shower screen and a nearby sink, some may find the bath difficult to get into. If you are staying in this building just be aware that there isn’t a lift and there are a lot of stairs if you are on the top floor, so check when you book. The room was very clean, the bathroom was well equipped but, although there was a kitchen area in the room, there was no kettle to make our own drinks. When we booked we got a good deal which included dinner on the night we arrived. Our meal, in a lovely little restaurant just across the road, was very good. It was a set menu, with some choice. Beautifully cooked food and we sat outside in the lovely garden. The WiFi is free, but we couldn’t get the codes we were given to work. We used the bar area when we arrived for tea and sat on the terrace. A lovely place to sit. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and we would certainly stay there again.

I am super reluctant to write bad reviews, but the stay here way simply horrible. Apart from the fact that the hotel is absolutely overpriced considering the condition of the premises, the rooms are 9ld fashioned and you can clearly tell that the owner is using it as a cash cow. Staff is nice and trying hard, but cannot make up for neither the condition of the hotel itself nor its uninspired and lame kitchen.
