Would go back.
For a motel, it was a nice room. Clean (as opposed to the previous 2 nights in another place down the road). The pool and hot tub were open and clean. The staff was nice. Open door to the beach and water was great! Miss having a coffee pot though.
I would of rather slept in my car !!
DO. NOT. STAY. HERE! First of all, we booked Labor Day weekend so I expected prices to be inflated. I paid over 200$/night for this awful room. This motel is from the 1950’s but I didn’t expect it to be as dreadful as it was. Don’t be fooled by the pictures on their website. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t want to remember this horrible experience. We only stayed here for the location which was on the water and pet friendly. Walking in the room, it smelled stale, the carpet was almost black which I think was originally green or blue at some point. I wouldn’t dare walk around bare foot on the carpet, might catch Hepatitis. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the 1950s. There was mold/mildew on the base boards in the bathroom, they only gave us one roll of toilet paper. The fiberglass shower had two holes in it. Not one, but two folks. One was taped with masking tape (no I can’t make this up) the other was huge and I stuffed a washcloth in it. I wasn’t sure if an animal was going to crawl out or if there was a camera in there. The shower head was gross. The beds were unpleasant and felt like I slept on marbles, one was missing a box spring and was way higher than the other bed. There were stains on the walls, the sheets, the fridge and the door leading to the balcony. The balcony had dirty chairs, the screen was ripped out, and looks like the wood has seen better days. There were holes in the curtains, so light was poking through. There was a HUGE spider web in the room by the air conditioner, not sure where the spider was, nor do I want to know. Every time I tried to call the front desk, they never answered. My son threw up in the middle of the night, and I asked the front desk to change the sheets in the morning when we left our room at 9 am. We returned to our room at 4pm and the sheets still weren’t changed. At that point, I was fed up, cut our trip a day short and drove 4 hours home. I would have rather slept in my car. They would not refund any of my money.
Definitely nor recommended, take family elsewhere!
Location is great and that’s where it all ends. I could have easily copied and pasted comments from other reviewers with poor or lower ratings, i.e. “outdated”, “needed renovation 25 years ago”, “rooms look like a scene taken from “Psycho’ movie”. I fully agree with them but decided to share our own experience at the motel. I have travelled extensively with my family, and stayed at much better hotels for what I paid per night here. Yes, it was Labor Day weekend 2020, but there is a big gap in quality and services to enable jacking up price to milk travelers out of their money. First of all, do not, I repeat, do not trust the misleading pictures of the rooms as featured on the booking site or motel internet page, as you may be getting something totally different (that was my mistake). My traveling party were wife, daughter and grandkids (15 and 1 - more on the latter to follow). My daughter summed it up best: “an actual room key in 2020, really?” Then she entered the smelly room with my wife and it all went downhill from there. Requested a crib at the time I booked, and my daughter called a couple of times before we left home, to make sure our 1yo had a place to sleep, well, it wasn’t there. I asked at the front desk and they could not tell me a time it would be delivered. When they did, it was broken and could not be assembled. My wife and daughter carried it to the front desk and they had to replace it. The room was small for the 4 of us (I asked for 2 queen beds), crib notwithstanding. I was suspicious about the carpet and avoided walking barefoot, beds did not have fitted sheets, curtains had rust in them, A/C was a stand-alone unit on the wall but worked. Hot water was set way too high and I almost got burned in the shower. Bathroom (I will post pictures if possible), is in dire need of restoration: no place to put wet towels, which I hung in clothes hangers (luckily it was only a 2-night stay). Room was not made up on our 2nd day there. My granddaughter found spiders on the shower curtain, rust every where on metal surfaces, sink is outdated. No microwave in rooms, only available at the lobby. No inside the room motel information such as wi-fi connection details, other amenities (I doubt there is any room service). They will not give you a receipt of your stay when checking out if you go through a booking site. Choose to take your business somewhere else if you travel to the area. Don’t come here, especially if you are with family, due to risk of being assigned a dreadful room like we were. The building needs to be torn down and re-built from scratch to today’s standards!! Note to booking sites: take this motel offering down from your selection ASAP.
Softball tournament
Although the room was a bit outdated it was very clean and the location was amazing. We were there with our softball team and definitely enjoyed our stay. The beach and fire pit were a real hit for us and we would definitely stay there again.
Stay away!!!
We stayed at your motel on August 19th and 21st. The room was disgusting the minute we walked in. There were stains on the walls in the sleeping area, the air conditioner had a thick layer of fuzz and dust. In the bathroom there were stains on the wall by the toilet that appeared to be fecal matter. One of the light did not work and the carpet was horribly dirty and I would not walk barefoot on! There was also some kind of "matter" on the dresser. When I tried to call the front desk I dialed 0 and it rang and then nothing. This motel is in dire need of a vast, major cleaning- inside and out. There was junk behind our unit that needs to be addressed also. Such a sad thing that the city advertises this motel.
