Don't ever make a mistake of booking and staying in this so called hotel. Cockroaches and leaks everywhere and dirty as hell, rooms and linens . Only 1 old unsafe wiggling elevator is functioning to service thousands of occupants of this dilapidated poorly maintained building, thus, a 20-30 minute wait is normal. The internet is almost non existent. A ghetto is a lot better than this hazardous building. I will not stay here again even if free.

Stay here only if you need to be close to La Salle

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights since we needed to live at close proximity with our friends who are staying at condominiums across DLSU. We had no idea what this hotel had to offer, but we just opted to stay here because of its location. First off, the hotel room was really old. It seemed like it hasn't been renovated at all since it was built. Second, the room was not tidy when we checked in. We had to do some more cleaning. Third, the light was defective. Fourth, there were cockroaches sprouting out from the bathroom. Fifth, the toilet seat/toilet bowl had some yellowish/brownish stains all over which was removed when we cleaned it with toilet paper. Sixth, THE ROOM HAD NO KEY SO WE HAD TO LEAVE IT OPEN EVERY TIME WE LEFT THE ROOM. The staff told us to just leave our valuables with them... With all these, the room didn't even come at a very cheap price. So what you're actually paying for is just the location. Next time, we'll probable opt living at a different hotel, even if it would be farther. If at all, the only good things about this hotel is that they have several restaurants and a convenience store at the ground floor and their internet speed was satisfactory.

Near La Salle. That's all you need to care about.

What I liked: (1) Closest to the university, literally a few steps to the Velasco gate. This is its most compelling selling point. (2) ample and wide parking. (3) clean. (4) odorless. (5) spacious room for this hotel category. (6) good water pressure. (7) good aircon, comfortable and wide (double) beds, comfy covers. Pillows were on the lumpy side but acceptable. Disliked: (1) Laughingly awful housekeeping service- Upon check-in, we're made to wait a few minutes because the "rooms are being checked for readiness". The rooms are very clean as I've said so credit that to the housekeeper in charge, but when we got to the rooms, there are no towels, no toilet paper, no trash can. When we reminded the housekeep that they forgot, they only brought 1 towel and reasoned they ran out of clean towels. Asking him how that was possible, he said the laundry delivery was just late (it was already past 10pm btw) but he expects to hand to us the 2nd one in 30 mins. I said ok but didn't believe him and sure enough he never returned even the next day. (2) The wall closet door got unhinged and fell on me. Good thing this didn't happen to a small child or this would've been a big problem for them. That door was considerably heavy. (3) Old 19in tube TV in the room with cable but very grainy reception. (4) There is no security hindrance for non-guests to go up to the hotel level. Anyone can come up. There are many security guards on the ground floor though. (5) The building/ hotel was only 9 years old but looked way older than that bec. of poor design and material choices. Relatively cheap materials everywhere. The fiberglass bathtub is already light yellow due to age. (6) tacky design (7) Again on scrimping on material investments, the elevators function and look older than actual. (8) no wifi in the rooms (9) a little overpriced overall considering the state of facilities. Obviously the premium is simply for its proximity to the university. The dislikes all said, none of them are dealbreakers and outweigh the positives. I wouldn't mind staying here again just bec. of satisfactory comfort and the sheer convenience if going to school.

Positive: The rooms were spacious. Air condition ok. Location was nicely situated next to De La Salle University. Easy to find public transportations. Negative: No aisbox, old fashion TV, Wifi in the room sometime not ok, the elevator take very long. Have to wait about 5 - 10 minutes for it. A bit expensive.

Old and Shabby Rooms

Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives for Taft Tower Hotel. To begin with a positive, the staff members were prompt whenever we requested toilet paper or other toiletries. The rooms were spacious and big, though they are not cleaned on a daily basis. The location was nicely situated next to De La Salle College on Taft Avenue. However, the hotel is not the entire building, rather the lobby is located on the 29th floor of the building and the hotel rooms occupy two floors. There was a time during a storm I had to walk up all the steps from the ground floor to the 29th floor as the elevators were not functioning due to no electricity. Wifi is present only in the lobby and possibly in the rooms closest to the center of the lobby. However, do not expect that wifi or even some cellphone service in the rooms. The rooms, just like the building appear old, shabby, and in need of an upgrade. There was an upgrade last year, but did not seem to accomplish that much for the hotel. There are no other facilities in the hotel as it is a no-frills hotel. However, for a no-frills hotel, it is a bit expensive as other properties can be found within the neighboring area of equal or greater quality for a cheaper price. What's nice though is that a ministop is located attached to the building as well as restaurants below.
