Nasty. Says smoke free hotel but wreaks of cigarettes. And although Not the hotels fault- the guys out front smoking pot are an added bonus. Comforter had stains. Floor was nasty. I was supposed to get an “accessible room”- nah they overlooked that. We come here about 2x a year and not again to this establishment. I’m worried about my stuff being stolen quite frankly with the people outside tweaking.

Gross, Gross, Gross!

I'll lead with the positive.... we did get a pretty good night's sleep. As of 8/2022, with a new COVID variant and monkey pox being major issues, we came with our own pillow cases and sheets as well as disinfecting wipes and Lysol; assuming the room had been cleaned but as a double-check and self-assurance so that we could truly relax. I did find upon entering that the shower had hair in it, gross but a manageable challenge since we wear flip flops in hotel showers anyway. Still I rinsed the shower floor and sprayed it with Lysol. I also noted the trial size soap seemed even smaller than the usual trial size, and referred to it as our "made-for-mice" bar of soap, but saw there were pump bottles of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner so no worries about staying clean. I wiped down those bottles, too (hey, I was on a roll, what can I say). Otherwise, we dropped our bags and went to the evening event which we had rolled into town dressed and ready for. We returned late, so fell into bed for a pretty good night's sleep and showered in the morning. We found that the shower gel AND the shampoo AND the conditioner were all filled with water to stretch them! Gross! Gross! Gross! We were in the shower so what could we do but grab that baby soap and finish up? When we checked out and shared this fact with the front desk, it did not seem to come as a surprise. The front desk lady said "I'm sorry for that. I'll tell the manager." I told her we would be calling HQ, to which she nodded her head. Most disturbing and what confirmed this practice is likely now regular is that she asked no questions. "Did you say 'watered down' ma'am?" She also did not firmly state, "WE DO NOT add water to guest products!" She didn't even try to blame the previous guests! Immediately (we weren't even out of the parking log) I called 1-800-HOLIDAY to register our complaint. We were told our feedback would be shared with upper level management. The customer service agent observed how much we had paid for the room, and it seemed we were on track for a refund. However, in the end, the agent only wanted to register us for their rewards program and give us 5000 points which we could use for a free overnight stay. What? Who the heck wants to stay in a place where it is normal to stretch the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel water?! No, thank you! The non-response of the Holiday Inn folks, from the front desk in Marshall, Texas to whoever was our customer service agent made our decision for us. You don't get to continue riding the high ratings and reviews wave with practices like this. And since we're never staying there again, now I'll just tell it all. The power flashed on and off the night we checked in and took out the few stinky TV channels we did have, the coffee was cold, the cinnamon rolls were flipped from the freezer to directly under the heat lamp, and we met two lovely gentlemen in the elevator who shared that they also had no TV channels, AFTER they had to move rooms because their first door didn't close! Gross AND severely lacking, in too many ways.

Warning. The hotel staff will enter your room at any time

Hotel will enter your room at ANY time with no care in the world. It happened to me. I spoke to the hotel manager and they acted like they didn’t care that one of their staff had entered my room without any regard that I had yet to checked out. If you stay at this hotel, keep your door locked. If you leave the room at any time take everything with you because they will enter your room

Super stay

Well I just came in for a quick overnight in Marshall . Well this is a nice gem. Clean great staff, comfortable, quiet. One star loss location is not easy to get to. After coming off a disastrous stay at another holiday inn in another city this is an excellent property to stay . Keep it up. I’ll be back well done

We understand the current situation about COVID19. But when we are trying to bring business back by checking inn a good amount of people as a group. The Holiday inn should step in and try to accommodate all and not make excuses about COVID19. The Gym, Pool should be open. rooms should Be clean regularly. More employees should be back to work. No more excuses.
