The Residence in ocean city, md is my hotel of choice. I have stayed there a few times, and each visit is better than the last. The staff are very welcoming, and make the check in process smooth. You can never go wrong with choosing a Marriott property, and as someone who stays in hotels 100 plus nights a year, I never worry when I am staying here. Go out of your way to stay here.
Perfect Substitute to Cruising

We are avid cruisers and have been grounded since disembarking off our last cruise on 13 March 2020... the day the cruise industry shut down. This hotel brought us back to a time of cruising euphoria. They've gone to great lengths to keep their guests protected... bravo for them! Their breakfast setup was swift and delicious (scrumptious varying options each day). Their staff was tops... courteous, never complaining, very accommodating. Our room was massive compared to balcony cabins on a ship... delightful surprise! We faced the bay which mirrored the feel of cruising from a balcony cabin. Fagers Island had music playing at night much like you enjoy on ships. The balcony was tinted with turquoise glass much like they have on ship balconies. The pool was heated...a bonus as ships we've sailed on do not have that luxury. The tiki bar offered drinks and food much as they offer on ships. You get the correlation! After such a long wait to travel again, our week at RI OC was beyond measure and will be our safe zone for future cruising simulations. Thank you to the entire staff for the phenomenal job you do and for making us feel safe during these unsafe times. Ten stars and beyond!!
Don’t come with your infant and if you’re concerned about Covid

Booked and paid for a large king suite. When we arrived with our 4 month old newborn they coldly checked us into a queen with a cold apology and threw in a discount for the night. This is seeing us coming in with a newborn and not considering the number of things we have to pack and take when we moved to another king room when it becomes available. We will have to spend 2 hours unpacking and packing again in the morning.
We also asked for the pack and play to be set up. It arrived with a dirty unwashed stinking fitted sheet. They then ask us to put a hotel sheet on it knowing this is a huge safety risk for infants. We then realize after our baby doesn’t stop crying that the crib mattress has a huge hole in the center. And if we try to close it, it bulged out. They are doing everything possible to ensure SIDS for your baby.
We are finally not going to have the baby in the hotel pack and play.
Do not travel here if you’re looking for even the basics when you come with your infant. Including basic empathy.
Also, the staff don’t wear masks, so if you’re concerned about Covid, don’t come here.

Amazing hotel! Complete with friendly staff, beautiful views, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Pools were spectacular (especially the outside pool)! Loved everything about this place! Close to everything but also far enough away to enjoy the quiet

Commendations to the management and staff of the Residence Inn Ocean City on maintaining a clean and healthy facility during an extremely difficult time in our lives. My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay celebrating our 40th Anniversary and we could not be more complimentary on the hospitality extended and the patience exhibited by the staff in trying to keep everyone safe and healthy during a pandemic. Not only was our room extremely clean, but the public areas of the hotel were spic and span throughout our stay. I was particularly impressed with the system devised for serving breakfast and the hotel's ability to continue to serve a hot breakfast instead of a grab and go bag, like some other hotels, under the guise that it's impossible to maintain health and safety standards with COVID. NOT!!! In addition, the hotel has done an exemplary job of organizing the buffet in a manner in which choices are served by a masked and gloved member of the hotel staff, instead of allowing guests, most of which were unmasked, to reach across food and serve themselves. An added element of comfort and safety. Based on experiences at other hotels recently, we had talked about skipping breakfast at the hotel and going to a restaurant instead, but after seeing the system here, we were satisfied and glad we didn’t. Other hotels could learn from this-even another Residence Inn (Sedona) that we stayed at recently.
Last, but not least, it’s always a pleasure to be welcomed by a staff member like Zina, who never fails to greet you when you walk by with your name! But, every member of the staff I encountered was pleasant, so kudos to the management on your hiring choices. Obviously, I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait for our next trip!
