Aside from the structure and the beach, this is FAR from 4 stars. Maybe it had its glory days but it's now a mess. The public spaces are dirty. The food is bad (we ate out 3 times), no covid regulations in place. Long line in the buffet and guests are stuffed in a small space where your table could be missing the next meal. The food trays are mostly empty and you should get up and refill your own water. The table cloths are re-used. Airconditioning not working well, music too loud. Restaurant understaffed The restaurant manager useless, and speaks bad about other guests in public spaces. No playground for kids, only 5 old and rusty swings for the entire hotel. Twice, we had no water to take a shower and sometimes no towels in the room. They charge an extra 50€ per person for the use of facilities. There were only 2 days in a week where there was no wedding and the pool was free. The management and staff knew the guests were unhappy but no guest recovery effort was made. Spend you money and precious vacation time somewhere else. I will not recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel which looks exactly like on the pictures. Large and clean room with seaview, big pool and just a few walks to the clean private beach. Very friendly staff, although only a few employees are speaking english. Normally to be rated with full points, but... VERY big minus for breakfast, which really does not fit to the rest of this wunderful hotel - very simple buffet with hardly any choice, prepared very carelessly - yoghurt is served in a big (5 kg) plastic pot (like the ones used for the colour for painting walls), plastic cups for muesli,... (Sustainability?!). Only one small bowl with scrembled eggs - if this bowl is empty, "eggs are finish for today". Different kind of cakes that also are served lovelessly. There is hardly any tea offered, moreover you have to look carefully to find a clean cup at the coffee machine. Really A LOT of room for improvement!!

This was our second stay at the Grand Hotel Balestrieri and, each time, our stay was nothing but excellent. The room was large, meticulously clean, beautifully furnished with a large comfortable king size bed. I believe that every room has a view of the sea. The grounds of the hotel are simply gorgeous and they host many weddings on the premises. Breakfast is included and guests are treated to an incredible variety of local fare. I can't imagine that you would find a better place to stay in this part of Calabria.

The hotel is very nice, with a nice big pool and a beach. The foods were nice, as well as the breakfast. Was visiting for a friend's wedding, everything was well organised. One receptionist was not nice to us, otherwise everything was quite well Some things to note: it gets really windy there so be prepared, the sea is cold, pool is rather shallow (120 cm), difficult to get there if you don't have a car, breakfast selection could be better
