A relaxing break what more do you need

We never tire of boarding at this hotel and spa. Being in the centre of Midhurst it gives us plenty of options to visit local locations Petworth Park, Goodwood, Halnaker, Chichester, Bosham and the village where there is plenty to do. This last visit I believe was our seventh. Over the last couple of years we have opted to include the evening meal in our package, this again allows us to have a relaxing time not hunting around looking for a restaurant. All meals including breakfast you cannot fault. The facilities are excellent with a large pool and spa area. Staff are fantastic and everyone stops to talk and ask if we need anything. Can’t wait to go back again.

History is great but present day not so

This hotel prides itself on its history and place in the village of Midhurst but as a visitor it didn’t really connect with us and we felt left to find out things for ourselves - the spa was just about adequate - don’t count on relaxation unless you can get one of the 4 loungers and even then it gets over busy and under 5”s jumping in to the pool doesn’t create the “spa” ambiance. Day 1 breakfast was lovely but today was Day 2 and a 30+ minute wait was cold sausage and mushroom, poached eggs however were lovely. I always post from the heart and I feel this hotel needs a reminder to connect with every guest

From arrival until departure the service was fabulous. We arrived early to the hotel, but the staff were very accommodating. They checked with housekeeping to see if the room was ready early, and arranged twin beds for my mum and I. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable with mattress toppers that made you feel you were sleeping ion a cloud. There were extra pillows in the cupboard should you need them. Fresh milk was provided for tea and there were fresh baked biscuits in the room. The food was delicious. All freshly prepared, generous portion sizes and very tasty. The menu is small, about five choices of starter, main and desserts. I would have liked one more choice on the mains with either chicken or pork to make it perfect as we are not fish or beef eaters., but that said we had the soufflé and it was lush. Breakfast also was delicious. Quality was the order of the day with freshly squeezed juice served at the table, what appeared to be home made muesli, and a lovely cooked breakfast, all served piping hot. We also enjoyed the spa. The aroma was lovely, the reception staff polite and friendly, the pool areas clean and welcoming. The treatment rooms were spacious and immaculate and the treatment was heavenly, and very professional. The warm water bed topper on the massage table was incredible and added to the relaxation experience. From the point of check in to the time of checking out we felt welcome and relaxed. Everyone was amazing. A definite place to stay if you would like some indulgence and to be cared for by lovely hardworking staff.

I went for a spa stay with my mother and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food in the restaurant was also delicious with a good wine selection. Couldn’t fault anything. The spa was also great and relaxing.

Really good service, food was also great. Lots of nice touches to make your stay a bit more special. We stayed in the cosy room which was more than big enough for the two of us and a really nice room. All members of staff from reception to waiters were so helpful. Will definitely be heading there again at some point
