Great staycation at the Springhill Suites in Mishawaka
Due to the pandemic, I have not stayed at many hotels since March 2020. My usual hotel nights per year top 100, so I am very familiar with all of the Marriott brands. My stay at the Springhill Suites in Mishawaka was exceptional. From the moment I walked into the hotel, I was greeted by a very welcoming Tiriano at the front desk. In fact, every interaction I had at the hotel was very welcoming - from the housekeeping staff to management. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The shower pressure was great! We did not use the pool, but the reservation system seemed safe and easy. The Grab N Go breakfast was convenient and the coffee was fresh and warm. If I do another staycation in my home city, I will definitely stay hear again!
Post-Shutdown Experience
We are visiting during Memorial Day Weekend just as hotels and restaurants are reopening. We had to come to town to move stuff from my daughter’s dorm room at Notre Dame into storage. We have stayed at many properties around town and have usually not been disappointed, especially in Marriott properties. This one is not up to par. The front desk staff is very helpful and they kindly accepted some luggage that was sent ahead but we are extremely disappointed and very surprised at how worn our room is. The upholstery on the sofa bed is very dirty and faded. The cloth on the headboard is pilling and the mattress is stained. The area around the bed has obviously not been vacuumed in weeks. The fitted sheet that was provided is old and does not fit the mattress. The blanket provided is also stained. The carpet is filthy. I thought that each room would have received a thorough and deep cleaning during the coronavirus shutdown but apparently that is not the case. The set up of the room is very awkward too. We can’t move around the sofa bed when it is opened. We are hoping to change rooms tomorrow. I am also disappointed that the only breakfast being served is a “grab and go.” Ugh.
Clean and neat
I was treated very pleasantly by the front desk. My room was nicely divided so I was able to have a sitting ares separated from the kitchen and bedroom. The weekend was a little noise due to an unsupervised group of young athletes, but the hotel managed it well. Sunday night you could have heard a pin drop. Good reasonably priced lodging.
Ok, but just ok.
We stayed here while on our trip to Chicago. The room was very good sized and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioner ran all night no matter the setting. We literally put a blanket over the vents to keep the room from being an ice box! Continental breakfast was ok, but needed more hot food like a waffle maker.
Nice Family Overnight Stay
Stayed here for one night with the family. Clean nice hotel, located near shopping centers. Staff was friendly and hotel is fairly appointed with regards to decor. Pool area is small but clean. Breakfast buffet is offered but there are choices nearby.
