worst place I've ever experienced
Avaliou em 21 de setembro de 2021
This place was terrible. The sheets were dingy and the place stunk. I left and found another hotel because it was so disgusting and they would not refund my money! I never leave reviews, but I felt this time it was necessary.

This place was ok, beds comfy. Had a full kitchen which I suppose we didn’t need would have given more space. $78 otd fair rate. No HD tv. Terrible toilet seat and no room. But with gift card( we will use Shell gas) a good deal. Starvin Arvin next door good breakfast. Younger Middle Eastern gal charged my card before check in and had no people skills or personality Black Canyon is awesome!
Subpar Even by Rodeway Inn Standards - Misleading Room Description
Avaliou em 19 de agosto de 2020
We spent the night in Montrose prior to a visit to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. Montrose was surprisingly busy in early August, so we ended up at the local Rodeway Inn. We know, of course, that Rodeway is known to be a low-end brand. Comparisons of these properties to higher-end economy properties is unfair on a "you get what you pay for" basis. However, our concerns with this property we about the item that we expect in any level of property: good maintenance and cleanliness. We had no issues with the room itself, which appeared to have been recently renovated and was itself in clean and in good shape. The common areas were the problem. We had a small bag of trash to dispose of on our arrival and we found every available trashcan to be overflowing. Also, our outside-entry room was located on the second floor. To reach it, we passed a small-but-filthy gas barbecue unit propped up on the A/C unit of the first room we passed and a dirty, recently used marijuana-type pipe and lighter on the A/C unit of the next room in plain sight and easily accessible to an child walking by. Even in these difficult times in the hospitality industry, basic maintenance and safety levels must be maintained. This property falls short. Last, this room was described on the Choice Hotels app as having a "kitchen." What that apparently means for this property is that it has a small refrigerator and a microwave, which are nearly standard in the economy hotel market. This is not a "kitchen" by any definition of the term. Perhaps the owner meant to distinguish this room from other available rooms with no refrigerator or microwave, but the proper way to advertise that situation would be to say that in the description of the rooms.
Great Stay for a Low Price!

I had a great experience at Rodeway Inn! I found a deal on Priceline for $75 a night for a room that included a full kitchen & king sized bed. For an inexpensive roadside inn, it was well above my expectations. It was clean & spacious with a full sized refrigerator and oven. The towels were a little small and sheets a little thin, but we asked for extras and they obliged. The motel is an easy day trip from lots of great hikes at a reasonable rate!

Though clean, our room felt dingy. The big chair looked dirty, the sheets and pillowcases smelled clean but were yellowed. Unlike the other 3 Choice hotel brands we've used since Covid, this one offers no breakfast at all. Maybe they should use the money they are saving to buy new linens?? A lot of people sitting out smoking in front of their rooms, including the cleaning lady in front of ours when we checked out. The wifi is the worst I've encountered at a hotel. Pros are the price and location. There is also a kitchenette in the room if you need those amenities. We would choose somewhere else if we returned to Montrose, but believe you get what you pay for here.
