Pre wedding stay, morning wedding prep and honeymoon night stay

Where do I even start!!!! This place is a must see, must visit. I booked our weddingreception in a bar Tomneys next door to this venue. (it was amazing also) I wanted somewhere to rest my head the night before the wedding near by as opposed to the traditional means of going from home on the morning of the wedding . Never in a million years did I realise I had found a true hidden gem. Julie Ann the proprietor went above and beyond in every which way to help me both prior to my wedding and the morning of the wedding. She is an angel or as I refer to my 'wedding fairy' . As well as the perfect hostess the actual venue is just stunning. It is bursting with character. Every inch is steeped with beautuful ornate furniture and decor. What beautiful gardens too!!! It has its own secret garden. My wedding prep photos turned out to be amazing, far beyond my expectations. Julie Ann thought of everything even by lighting the fire to create a nice atmosphere! I was able to get my makeup and hair done in the venue also. Everything was just so relaxed. The rooms made a beautiful backdrop for my photos. The actual room I stayed in was stunning (I didnt want to leave) and the breakfast again no faults whatsoever. Efficient and of very high standard. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. I had family and friends stay the night of the wedding and even they were blown away by the surroundings. I would not change one thing about my wedding. Be sure if you are looking for a venue for a special occasion be it a birthday party, anniversary, christening etc you must look into this place. It lended itself very well to my wedding reception venue Tomneys. Again it is steeped in beautiful antique quirkiness. I looked far and wide for a wedding reception location. Infact at one point I had resigned to the fact I would not get married. I could not find what I was after. I didn't fancy the traditional formal hotel wedding I wanted something much more personal and informal. My wedding was large in size with almost 200 guests however had I have been having a smaller more intimate wedding I would most definately have booked the Charlemont. Its everything you could want in a venue!!! How can I forget to mention the hot tub too. Its just an added luxury. It just made the experience extra special the morning after the wedding. My husband and I chilled out in the hot tub with prosecco. The hot tub was spacious and private and such a treat!!! This little gem in Moy is amazing. Infact while sitting in the hot tub and beautiful rooms of the Charlemont it were as if we were on holidays. If you are looking a venue for a special occasion you must check this place out and dander down to another gem Tomneys Bar for a pint. Finish the experience off by visiting the quaint antiques shop next door. You will not be disappointed. Thankyou Julie Ann for your hospitality you were just amazing, our wedding experience was perfect. Look forward to another stay in the very near future. If I could give ten stars I would. Faultless!!!!!

Not a good stay

Tatty and dusty … wallpaper pealing off the wall and ceiling .the beds were decent which was the only good point . A single sachet of coffee in a room sleeping 4 …. Oh how they spoil us!!! Breakfast was poor too. Very small portions. Would not return

I stayed here with a friend as I was seeing a show in a nighbouring village. We had to pick are keys up from tommys which is no problem. My friend and I were located in a family room on the top floor. The family room had one double bed and 2 single beds. It was a shared bathroom and shower room with a sink in our room which is not a problem for me. We stayed for two nights. The only negative thing I’ve got say is I found the room quite cold some of the time especially at night but there is a heater in the room which I did use on an a occasion and it did help. It can also be a bit noisy especially on a saterday night but it was not a major issue. We had breakfast on the saterday morning and it was lovely. We were also offered self-serve breakfast on Sunday morning as we had to leave very early to get travel back to Dublin. The rooms in the hotel were nice and the price was very resonable. All round a good stay and Julianna was a good host.

Julienna was a great host room beautifully decorated a very lovely homely place great breakfast and very friendly staff who did everything they could to make our stay very enjoyable, you will find the village the moy a very friendly quaint little village most welcoming.

What a wonderful ,Warm & cosy place to stay.Right in the heart of the Village. Julianna who runs the house is the most amazing you host you could ask for nothing was a bother to her We need more Julianna's in this world. Rooms are great beds are so comfortable. The breakfast was Amazing & again if you wanted something they didn't have you can bet it was there the next day for you.I would recommend the Hotel to anyone wanting a warm stay.
