Great hotel in my childhood town

When Rock City Hotel opened in 2011 the city of Namsos hadn't had a proper hotel in years. The expectations where high, and the hotel met them. It's fantastic to see that 10 years after it is still a great hotel, though the restaurant has closed down since the opening. We spent 2 short days for a confirmation, and not much have changed since my last visit. All the rooms have local rock themes, with a picture of one of the local heroes on the wall. And lyrics from a song woven in to the carpet. Quite unique. I would strongly recommend you to book one of the guitar rooms! I stayed in one last time, and it's truely an experience. The beds are huge, and have the form of a guitar. I believe they have a couple of thoese rooms. All in all a great stay!

I liked the fact that the reception also was a bar where you could order for the room. And the staff was super nice!!! Not all hotels allow for breakfast brought to the room either. The whole stay was luxurious, simple and pleasant.
All good 😊

A new and very clean hotel with a good flair of the theme of local rock groups. Don’t worry, it’s not a rock hotel 😄. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was standard continental and ok, could have had some Asian inspiration. We had a room for 3 and had a fold-out standing there. That’s why it’s only a 3 on the room.
Fun hotel with good restaurant

We spent 1 night here, in connecting rooms. The Scandic chain was doing an offer where you get a room for the teens at a good discount if you contact them directly.
The hotel's decor was really fun, reflecting Namsos' links to Trøndelag-style rock music. The rooms were comfortable. The connecting doors hadn't been unlocked, and we decided not to go down to reception and ask. Especially as one of the two elevators was out of order. And with Covid restrictions meaning that only two people from separate households were supposed to take the elevator together, we avoided taking it more than necessary.
One downside to our room was that the door didn't lock properly, so we had to slam it shut. I hope it didn't bother our neighbors.
I was too tired to eat out, so we ate in the hotel restaurant. The menu is very limited, but the food was very good and worth the price. They also had good children's options. My only gripe is that my son asked for vanilla ice cream. The staff weren't sure if that was possible, which was fine. But then he recieved flavored ice cream with peanuts, chocolate sauce and strawberries, which we were forced to eat for him. I thought it was a lovely dessert, and very good for the price. I just would liked more of a description on the menu. Somebody who asks for “just vanilla ice cream” probably isn't going to want all that.
Breakfast at the hotel was very nice. We followed the Norwegian tradition of paying to pack our own lunches, so we had a much nicer lunch on our long drive that day than we would have otherwise. The lack of black tea was a disappointment, though.
I'd be happy to return.
