Nice way to spend our last night in Costa Rica

We spent one night here before departing San Juan airport for home . It is very isolated. We enjoyed our time here but i wouldn't consider this a destination- again it is very isolated- thirty minutes on a rough road every time you want to leave - so if you were here for awhile excursions would be difficult. We knew this - donut wasn’t an issue for us . There is a beautiful series of waterfalls near the property - 3km away through a road- so it is not a nature hike - we drove to the falls and really enjoyed our time there - swimming and climbing rocks . The folks working at the property were very very nice . The cabin was nicely appointed . Beautiful views , nice bathroom, screens - not windows- but even without air conditioning it was very comfortable and we loved listening tonthe birds . Meals were included- but very basic - typical Costa Rican food - beans/ rice / chicken . Pasta for dinner was tasty .
But desert choice was strawberry jello or rice pudding -
One night was lovely - albeit primitive-. We have stayed at a few nature resorts on Belize- this is more of a cabin than a resort .
I am glad that we went and would definitely recommend for a night or maybe two.

We LOVED staying at Santa Juana Lodge. I traveled with my 10-year-old son, and he wanted to give this place "12 on a scale of 1-10." The staff was so kind and warm, from the moment we arrived to our final meal. Our casita was lovely - wonderful layout, clean and comfortable, +kitchenette. Our balcony had a sweet hammock and breathtaking view. We liked the fans and screens instead of windows and A/C. We did a guided hike to a waterfall and swimming hole - highly recommend. The meals were prepared and eaten in a sweet little open air dining hall/kitchen area with panoramic views. Santa Juana Lodge was a highlight on our trip and we would love to return in the future.

Santa Juana is a quiet village in the mountains near Quepos. Perfect Casitas for families, amazing views, incredible hosts. Quiet and peaceful, a relaxing and soul nourishing spot. Can't wait to go back.

I stayed in Santa Juana Lodge for 3 days and 2 nights, as the time moved on the less I wanted to leave the place. The landscapes are breathtaking, the waterfall, the trails and the animals you can find there are simply amazing, the food is delicious, and the treatment you receive is just excellent!
Rooms are neat, clean and super comfortable!
As a birdwatcher I highly recommend to visit these place, it has an immense biodiversity of birds species, it's just crazy!
It's an excellent option if you want to forget about the rush and stress of the city, there are few places where you can find peace and relaxation like that one you can find here.
Thanks for everything, hope to come back soon!

I cannot say enough good things about this place, not only are the views breathtaking and extraordinary, the staff and locals here are what make this place so serene and amazing. Sandra was so welcoming and was so much help with any questions I had, and went above and beyond when it came to hospitality! Not to mention, the local food made here was incredible! I will definitely be coming back here, and highly recommend if you visit Costa Rica, you give this place a visit!
