This place is a gem indeed and you can find the friendliest staff around. So caring and helpful people that you feel like at home. The breakfast is served every morning (au minute), sometimes they made a little extra sri lankan specials - so yummy! Rooms were clean and well equipped, bed comfortable, AC worked properly, pool area is also very nice and clean. We started our SriLankan trip here and rhe experience was so good that we also booked our last nights there as well. Exceedingly awesome indeed.

Wonderful staff

Nice and clean with lovely food, perfectly met our needs as a stop off before going to the airport. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful particularly as we had to leave very short notice to catch a rearranged flight - organised a driver for us immediately for which we were so grateful!

Nice place to stay straight from airport

The hotel was lovely as were the staff, not anything special but it's what we needed when first arriving in Sri Lanka as it wasn't far from the airport. We didn't really use the balcony because of the bugs and birds but was nice to be by the canal and the room was spacious and clean. Would recommend and good value for a cheap price!

Stay either side of the flight

Nice hotel and very nice massage. The reception staff were very accommodating and the bed was so comfy! Great place to stay if you need a day or two either side of your flight. One thing to note is you can hear the train (early morning and throughout the day). However, I wouldn’t let it put you off staying here. As a sensitive sleeper, I put some earplugs in and slept fine!

Overall we enjoyed our time- the food in particular was exquisite! Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with the full body massage (particularly with the professionalism of some of the masseurs) as well as the cleanliness of the showers we were directed toward after the massage. There were a few other minor issues as well regarding the water pressure and evident lack of staff. Before we left, we spoke to the staff in charge regarding all the above set backs. I am glad to report that they were extremely forthcoming and took note of all our feedback- this was encouraging and I left feeling confident that the necessary tweaks will be made as soon as possible. In spite of the hiccups encountered during our stay, I will definitely visit Ayur Ayur again sometime in the future. The service otherwise was warm and quite efficient, again the food was excellent, the rooms were well kept and cozy, and lastly my stay at Ayur Ayur (like my first visit) was just the break I needed to unwind from the hustle of Colombo!
