Beautiful Setting

The hotel is in a unique mountain location. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good but service was just ok, mostly due to lack of staff. Recommend the hotel, but would dine in town.

Every thing about the hotel (the rooms , the views, the pool area, the staff) were great except you need to pack your patience if you plan to dine at Ledges because they are very short staffed. Tip: make your breakfast reservation extra early if you have plans you need to get to.

This resort is absolutely beautiful. The people are great and the food is delicious. Would definitely recommend staying here. We did not take advantage of the golf course but that looked amazing also.

A mountain climber friend recommended WMHR and it met all expectations-comfortable, friendly staff and guests, good food, nice tavern, wonderful view, nice pool and gym and spectacular hiking right out the back door!

Great visit except one MAJOR PROBLEM

The hotel was very elegant and clean, and the views were gorgeous. It was the week of Labor Day, so there were no children which was very peaceful. The golf course was beautiful and in great condition. The starter did a great job arranging times so we could play by ourselves, which my wife really appreciated. In the restaurant, the views were nice, the wait staff was friendly and did a good job, and the food was prepared quickly and was delicious. The heated pool was a bit chilly for my taste, but my wife enjoyed it. The hot tub was just the right temperature. Now some minor quibbles: there is an ice machine on every floor, but not necessarily any ice in the machine. We had to keep going to another floor, which is no big deal. Most hotels I use don’t have ice on every floor, but since there is a machine, it is disappointing when it is constantly empty. Also, one of the bedsheets was so stiff we had it changed. And now the MAJOR complaint about this hotel – trying to get seated in the restaurant. Most of the time, Nancy, the hostess, is not at her station. She is bussing and resetting tables. This makes for a bad impression, particularly when you have a reservation and there is no one to greet you. At one of our breakfasts, at one point there were 15 parties queued up, again with no hostess. When she finally arrived, she was rather unpleasant, offering no greeting, no smile, no apology for us having to wait 20 minutes just to be seated. Then when we were seated, I counted 12 empty, set tables. They seem to want to use only the tables right next to the windows, leaving people to wait in line for long periods. We almost missed our tee time because of this wait. Everyone was grumbling and some went to the front desk to complain. Because breakfast is included with the room, we had to endure this every day and this may be enough of a reason to not return. When every guest experiences this extremely poor service, both the wait and the unprofessional hostess, it is shocking the owner does not do something about it.
