Usually, my husband and I love to stay in this hotel when we travel to central Ohio to visit family in the area. Unfortunately our stay on October 14-16 was seriously disappointing on several fronts. Primarily, our room was just unclean. Bits of debris (small pieces of some sort of wrapper plus other unknown bits) on the carpet, thick dust on the lamps, and the kicker: a glass that someone had obviously had used and placed back on the shelf was dirty with dried pulp and a coat of dried juice. Yuck! I was so grossed out! I said something to the desk clerk, and while she seemed sympathetic and said she would inform the manager, we never heard from anyone about our disappointing stay. If I had, they might have avoided me feeling compelled to write a negative review. Additionally, we had breakfast in the restaurant. The food was great, and those fluffy potatoes are addictively delicious. There were two waitresses; the younger of the two was attentive and wonderful, while the woman in her senior years (70s maybe?) was SO slow, never offered us a refill of coffee or checked on us at all, spent most of her time in the kitchen or sitting down at a corner table. Really, with this difference of service at the same restaurant, we were unsure if we wanted to eat there again.

1st timer here for business. Great location for me doing work downtown. Excellent staff (especially Rendy was so helpful). Room showed some dating but comfortable. On-site restaurant was good. Be sure to check your bill for the $15 pp Hilton honors per day food/bar credit. Free parking. Felt safe. Would stay again.

On September 13, we traveled from Alabama to Newark, to see about my elderly, sick sister. We arrived around 11:30 PM and were given room 513. Upon entering the room, I always check for general room cleanliness. I noticed the caulking at the base of the tile around the tub was missing, and there was a thick buildup of a dark, muddy substance. I also noted a buildup of a black substance around the tub drain. I immediately returned to the receptionist and informed her of my concerns. She apologized and immediately changed our room to 325. Upon entering that room, I immediately entered the bathroom and found the same issue. I returned to the front desk and informed the receptionist of my findings. I also told her that my husband, who is a Left AKA, was exhausted, not feeling well, and physically was not able to change to another room. I requested gloves and cleaning supplies and informed the receptionist that I would clean the tub and the room myself. The receptionist provided the supplies, and I returned to the room, cleaned the tub, wiped down every surface in that room, and picked up pieces of debris and food from off the floor as I noticed the staff had not vacuumed the room. One of the beds we could not use as the comforter and sheets were stained. Upon waking the following day, I requested and was provided a clean comforter and sheets for the other bed, which I removed and replaced myself. Also, the surfaces and the lamps in the sleeping area had a buildup of dust particles. Also, on September 15, we arrived at the hotel around 9:30 PM, and upon driving up, we noted several males were conversing, standing adjacent to the hotel's front door, sitting on coolers, and having several cases of beer positioned in their midst. Several of these individuals were consuming alcoholic beverages. As we neared the front entrance, there was a distinct odor of marijuana. I immediately looked at my husband, and he at me, and we both said, that's marijuana. Now, we can not say who was smoking, but someone was smoking or had smoked marijuana right in front of the hotel, where guests were coming and going. We also noticed the young lady at the front desk was reading a book, as she never even acknowledged us when we entered the hotel. I am appalled at the room's condition and the lack of security or monitoring of lingering individuals around the front entrance of this hotel. It saddens me to know that I have been staying at Hilton hotels for a long time, but this was a huge letdown. We were appalled that this facility would even allow individuals to gather, let alone drink and smoke, whatever they felt like, at the hotel's front entrance. I have always valued Hilton as a brand representing prestige, respect, dignity, and consideration for all guests. I pray that this information will not be taken lightly and shoved in a pile with any other complaints and negative hotel assessments provided by the guest. We received $53 and some change as a courtesy for the hotel's lack of cleanliness. I did not drive 800 miles to clean a room, change bed linens, and dust because the staff failed to perform their assigned job responsibilities. As a result of this hotel's staff not performing to Hilton standards, we had to ensure that we would be healthy and safe during our stay. We have stayed at this hotel several times and were so impressed and thrilled to be back until we entered rooms 513 and 325. I wish I could say that we would visit again, but why would we? This hotel has caused me to re-evaluate the Hilton chain and its guest standards.

This hotel is very clean, staff is friendly and accommodating, food in the Elements restaurant was really good. Rooms was comfortable but the beds are very firm. Overall a great option for the area. Would come back again. Very happy with our stay.
