Excellent location, just up from the train station (5 mins) and a 10 minute walk into the centre of town (five minutes from China Town). (The hotel is just off the West Road, and not to be confused with the one opposite the train station, which is a 'proper hotel'. Parking in Newcastle can be fun - hotel doesn't have space so wherever you end up parking you are going to walk a bit)
Booked just one night - wife and I were off to the theatre and we decided to stay over. Stayed on the third floor. Delightfully spacious apartment, which was very well equipped. Proper split fridge/freezer (type you would have at home), microwave (with grill function) and fan oven. There's dishwasher and sink. As well as the kettle there was a Nespresso machine, which was a nice touch. Well equipped cupboard of crockery, cutlery, kitchen implements and saucepans; we were impressed. So you could easily cook a meal, though there isn't a proper table to eat at, it's teas on knees!
Nicely decorated, decent wardrobe, excellent bed and the bath and shower were good (flagged that the plug didn't fit properly, so water drained too quickly). It was a warm room supplied with a fan but no external temperature controls.
Staff (Paul and Jane on reception) were friendly and helpful and the cleaning team were excellent.
Main hotel has restaurant/dining facilities - booking through reception will get a discount (which includes breakfast)
We were only there for a night but it would have been easy for a weekend or longer.

Being city centre apartment style rooms the accommodation lends itself to groups of people out to party, lots of hens and stags. People walking in all the time clanking bottles and cans from nearby Tesco express. You could see by the rooms they’d had heavy use and were a bit battered and stained. It was ok and served a purpose but wouldn’t stay again.
Good with a few small issues

Me and a friend stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment as a base to go to Newcastle races & for the location for bars etc afterwards. On arrival it was busy and the sole lady on the desk appeared nice but very stressed (could do with 2 on reception on weekends) after paying the £100 refundable deposit we received our two keys to our room. On arrival the room was spacious with 2 lovely bedrooms one with en suite, the bedroom furnishings were excellent as were both beds. The living room and kitchen area was nice and clean but the sofa was old and stayed and was out of place in such a nice apartment. Apart from that all good. On coming back at nighttime we found the apartment to be very noisy from revellers out for a night on the toon, this continued until 4am, no fault of the hotel but if you want this excellent central location expect it to be quite noisy overnight.
All in all good stay and we would stay again, not cheap but excellent location and nice decor apart from that old tatty sofa.

I found this to be a little bit of a mixed bag really. I'll start with the good points. The place is of Central location. The town is only a few steps away and it's right next to the train station. The town is wonderful with a real buzz.
The apartments itself was massive. we stayed in a 2-bedroom room. It had 2 bathrooms one with a fabulous shower and then in the another with a bath in. we found this very spacious and the kitchen well-equipped.
The not so good points are we was guaranteed we would be able to check in at 3 as it's our 30th wedding anniversary. we were still waiting at 4pm with not really much of an apology. I was panicking we would not make out evening function.
In the apartment itself the furniture was beautiful and curtains bedding etc were quite luxurious. Then in the living room was a raggedy old sofa that was stained and dirty and rubbed up
It really belongs in the skip. It let apartment down and also the walls with dirty and stained which would have only needed a bit of an emotion that also let it down.
Saying this we enjoyed our stay .

This aparthotel has a great location and is easy to get to: out of the station and a few minutes walk (up Clayton st, Berwick street/Clayton or Berwick/Pink lane/Clayton). We found the people who manned the reception lobby such as Jane and Paul to be very pleasant and agreeable and they made sure we had what we needed when requested eg coffee pod refills, towels, etc. We were on the 4th floor, 1 of 2 apartments. The apartment was a deluxe one, separate bathroom and then living space of bed/kitchen area/living room. The bed was big and comfy, good storage space for clothing and desk/mirror area, etc. 2 nice chairs with glass box table, the settee was nice but low, bit awkward to stand up from! The kitchen wall had all the usual storage, nice and modern with large tall fridge/freezer and microwave, etc. There was enough cups and glasses for the 2 of us in the apartment and 1 tea towel. Nice pod coffee machine with milk pods, teas and so on. All in all very clean and spacious open plan are. The bathroom was not massive but clean and big enough. Very quiet when we stayed and only just heard a room door bang a couple of times. All in all very enjoyable and we would certainly stay again.
