Very clean room. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Pleasant and friendly staff. Manager was awesome. Good breakfast variety and available on time. Well definitely return. Our hotel of choice in Newell, WV.

Weekday work trip

I went on a weekday work trip with my husband. This Hotel is Very Clean and has a comfy bed and room,it’s quiet. The breakfast was hot,fresh and tasty. Excellent Management and staff,very friendly. Relaxed atmosphere and safe area. Several local restaurants.

I checked in on 4/29 and was told the cost of the room was $210 after fees. Initially this was all that was charged to my card. I checked on saturday morning and still this was all that was on my card. Upon arriving home, i noticed there was another $240 charged to my card. I called the hotel and tried to explain the order in which these events happened, but the lady wouldn't even let me talk and just kept talking over me, telling me I needed to call my bank. The next day, ANOTHER $450 was charged to my card!!!! I called the hotel and they had no good explanation as to why and said "this call is over" and hung up on me. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY IN A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS AS LONG AS I LIVE. THESE GUYS ARE CRIMINALS!!!!!!!

We had made reservations well in advance asking for a first floor room due to my others recent hip surgery and my own knee issues. When we arrived there was. Sign saying that on Friday the day we were to check out the power would be off from 8-3. Friday am we asked to cancel Thursday to Friday but we’re told we would not be refunded — thus we were stuck. Now the issue no power means no elevator and 2 people with problems with stairs. this also means to get luggage out we had to load MOST of our stuff early and will have to shower at night rather than the am. We also need to be out before the elevator no longer works. So in essence it is not a leisurely relaxing stay wheee we had planned on sleeping in before a long drive home. On top of this tge curtains in the room are coated with a black substance and the heating/air is also….. Cleanliness is not a priority. They do t even have modern doors so try wrestling a luggage cart in and out alone.

I checked out early of another hotel to come here for the night with my family. It was MUCH cleaner than the previous hotel. Hot breakfast in the morning included pancakes, eggs, sausages, muffins, breads, and cereals. I wish I had stayed here the 2 nights.
