Great friendly hotel in centre

From our first phone contact with Molly on reception, all the staff were friendly, helpful and greeted us, including the lady doing housekeeping for the rooms. The beds were comfortable, WiFi good, and bathrooms clean and new. We stayed midweek and didn't hear any noise from the street or other guests. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and I loved the French toast.

Not visited this hotel but had a hell of a shock when they took 76.00 out of my bank account this morning!!!

Had never heard of this hotel until this morning when I had a notification from my bank !! Impossible to get hold of. Phoned 74 times today and every time goes to a recorded message with no option to leave a message. Will be going to the bank tomorrow but will not recommend due to their impossible customer service . This is not what I was expecting to wake up to this morning!!

Superb afternoon tea experience.

After a disappointing afternoon tea at the Celtic Manor, we decided to try the tea at the Silurian, where we had experienced a superb Sunday lunch a few weeks before. The afternoon tea was excellent! The sandwiches fresh and delicious, the cakes looked as good as they tasted. The environment was cosy and the staff friendly and amenable. At £15 a head, we thoroughly recommend it!

Hidden gem… wow what a Sunday roast

Just stayed at the Silurian Hotel for a wedding and wow how surprised we were at the quality of this hotel. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff are incredibly helpful from reception to waiting staff, even the chef came out and asked us how our meal was. However the best thing ever was the Sunday roast. Decent portion and very well presented even the vegetables were perfection. Great selection and didn’t need any extra seasoning. Mike the chef your a legend. We’ll be staying again *****

Extremely loud music all night

The hotel is next to a night club that blasts loud music till 5am.There was a raffle on entry to the hotel we won 20% off our meals but as we had pre paid our meals we got nothing. There was also no milk for tea in the room.
