Digno de ter sido um Marriott

O Nordport Plaza tem todo estilo e elegância esperados de um hotel que havia a pouco sido um Marriott e pouco precisou ser renovado para manter o refinamento. É, de fato, um hotel de aeroporto com tudo que se espera de um - estacionamento gratuito, transfer (suspenso por conta da pandemia), check-in/out expresso - mas com um algo mais. No momento, a região de Schleswig-Holstein dispensa o uso de máscaras em ambientes internos mas o hotel oferece o artefato a quem o solicite. O processo de check-in é muito rápido e eficiente, a própria recepção em si é ampla e convidativa. Como resquício do Marriott, o hotel ainda tem sauna e lounge, este temporariamente fechado por conta da pandemia.


High standards as an airport hotel

This former Marriott is a couple of minutes from Hamburg Airport and is really located in the middle of nowhere, which means no real option for tourists without a car or willing to discover Hamburg for the 1st time. It is aimed at one-night or corporative guests, as well as some on a road tour in northern Germany or towards Denmark. It is not a hotel for stranded passengers, though used by groups. The standards of a portfolio hotel were kept in the decoration and presentation, with distinction and an air of an elegant apartment in a high-end neighbourhood. Receptionists are always most kind and friendly, check-in takes no time. Parking costs 16 euros a day but some packages already include the fee. Internet is free of charge and open. Though right beside the northern take-off lane, one doesn't hear a thing, isolation is just perfect; however, the same perfection doesn't apply to indoors, as one can hear everything from neighbouring rooms and corridor. Speaking of rooms, they are cosy and elegant, with more than enough space for two people not to bump into each other. The lighting, though, is really awful, once can't really get the room full lit up, it's all too close to candlelight! There are no amenities but shampoo and shower gel and the shower could be some 5cm further from the wall for better comfort. Breakfast is offered in the neighbour building and is good yet basic, but its presentation improved a bit from last stay last year. It's all there but in small portions, again as if there was not enough food for everyone... Dinner is also served in Blue restaurant. All in all, bearing the points mentioned in the first two paragraphs in mind, Nordport Plaza can be a very good choice.


Gone very downhill since Covid-Bankruptcy: Do not recommend

Nordport used to be a decent business hotel. It isn’t anymore. It has poor maintenance (my air/heat didn’t work, and was noisy, warm, and dank, keeping my up all night). They now have irregular cleaning on request only, and even so they have dirty sheets to begin with. The few remaining amenities are nonfunctioning, there is poor food and customer service, with the cafe and bar closed. There are minimal business services, and as it sits in an isolated location, very few options for service, food, or other activities. There are almost no welcoming touches in the rooms anymore which might make it more tolerable, from decor to water to soaps and moisturiser. The food deserves a special mention for its low quality…as well as it’s charmless setting and gruff service. The service deserves mention as was either absent, or vaguely hostile, as if guests were an intrusion and a hassle. I suspect it’s because they are understaffed, undertrained, and not well managed post covid. They seem to be renting it out to cost conscious pensioners to bring in cash, which of course doesn’t add to its ambiences It’s unfortunate as it was fairly decent. Certainly even before it had some deficiencies, but they were both consistent and acceptable, as evidenced in the reviews. It would be nice if they did the work to get it back up to its former state, but until then I can’t see it surviving, and certainly wouldn’t recommend it until they address with action.


Strange room clean up policy

I stayed at the Nordport Hotel for three nights with 10 guests. The Hotel is great, modern, clean, everything needed there. Extremely spaceous rooms very motivated people. Even the restaurant is good enough for a good diner. Breakfast is top. So far so good.. It happened that I returned to my room after first night and found it not made. Well, such things happen, no worries. I went to receptions. A thousend sorries and I got a new room immediately. No further comment, neither from me nor from them. Home I came after second night and found the room not made again. This time, after showing up at the reception I was told by the same nice woman as the evening before, that room cleaning service is done only every third day..!!! Only on special request daily service is provided. I don’t how how green or good this idea is. Fact is that nobody told us, it is also nowhere mentioned in the room or at the reception. During checkout I found that most of my guests (obviously not all) had the same experience. However, same as me, nobody told them a thing. Anyway, 5 points shall be given, I simply loved the place..


Worst hotel ever / stay away

Worst hotel ever. Room smells bad No room cleaning No service - asked for help as restaurent closed before scedulded time Breakfast - very bad. For instance Industry scramblrd eegs Note many empolyees at the hotel. 2 star -NOT 5 star at all Sorry - a hotel without any energy.
