The worst DONT EVER STAY HERE
Run don’t walk to nearest Hilton. In my opinion, the staff is rude. I feel that place is dirty and dated. It seems to me to be in a shady part of town. I felt that The room smelled funky like curry or some Indian spice. Did I mention how rude I felt the staff are ? My opinion is it is the absolute worst low quality inn ever...
One bad customer experience destroyed 3 previous good ones.
I would like to preface this review by acknowledging that I had previously stayed at this Quality Inn & Suites in North Richland Hills, Texas WITH MY SERVICE DOG on three occasions for 10 days total: October 23, 24 & 25; November 6, 7, 8 & 9; and November 13, 14, & 15. This is already a pet friendly hotel but on each of these previous occasions they were extra sensitive to my back injury needs with regard to room type/location and accommodating my service dog without pet fees. Each time they had me initial the NO PET on the check in form by acknowledging she was a service dog. All in all, these were wonderful stays for me at a fair price. Therefore, when my brother and I were back in the area on December 5th and in need of a hotel it, it only made sense for me to recommend this place to my brother. When we arrived at the hotel, we left my service dog in the car because we unintentionally had left her vest behind at the truck repair place…the reason we were there. At the front desk, the hotel manager and two check-in girls (one was a young girl who had worked there for a while who was training her mother to work there) greeted us. I greeted them and asked if they remembered me and they said yes. We had originally reserved two rooms but when we explained we wanted them beside each other, the girls suggested we get a suite to save money. We were appreciative of this and agreed. During the check-in process, the girls said there would be a $100 incident fee (not knowing they charge that to everyone and then reimburse it at checkout if the room hasn’t been destroyed) and my brother said is that for the dog. They said no and explained to him they charge everyone that fee. My brother then looked at me and said, “did you tell them about the dog?” I replied “No” because they all three said they remembered me. (How could they remember me and not my service dog???) My brother then turned to back to the front desk with all three staff members standing there and said, “We have a dog.” The younger girl said, “if you have a dog, there is a $30 pet fee”. I responded, “she is my service dog” and the girl said “oh, okay.” It was at that moment that the night manager said “Ma’am, you have a pet?” (Oh, my gawd, what did I just say?) I responded “No, I don’t have a pet!” (meaning she was a service dog…NOT A PET…as I had just told them 30 seconds before that.) Now at this point, if there were any question you would think someone would speak up. Either the girl would tell the night manager “she has a service dog…not a pet” or the night manager would say “but I thought you just said you had a service dog”. PLUS, they all said they remembered me. No one said anything. We finished checking in and my brother signed the NO PET form just like I had on all the previous stays and he paid. We then left to go eat. When we came back to the room, I had to leave to go to Walmart. We hadn’t had any trouble with my service dog at the restaurant without a vest, but I was sure there would be a problem at Walmart, so I left my service dog at the room. After I left, apparently the night manager came knocking loudly on the door and when my brother (who had just gotten his pants off) answered the door, began yelling “SHE LIED TO ME, SHE LIED TO ME…you have a dog, I saw it in the security camera…she lied to me!!!” My brother closed the door to go put his pants on and the night manager gathered up 5 other men and came knocking again. My brother is slow to anger but, with accusations and threats to call the police, apparently there were enough heated words to bring his anger to the surface. I don’t know everything that was said because I wasn’t there but when I returned, I found my brother standing in the parking lot with all of our belongings, including my poor service dog” laying alongside…WE WERE EVICTED because of my poor service dog at a pet friendly hotel!!! When he told me what happened, I went back and talked to the young girl who was the only one there and she just kept giving excuses. “We don’t have any pet rooms left.” “Your brother signed the form.” “Yes, you told me you had a dog, but you told him you didn’t”. All the time I kept reminding her it wasn’t a pet but a service dog. I even took out my letter from my doctor and the service dog certificates to show her. I then asked her to call the owner. He had always been nice to me on my other stays. She refused and told me I would have to return the next day to speak with him. My brother and I left and stayed at another hotel. The next day I drove back to the Quality Inn & Suites in North Richland Hills, Texas to speak with the owner. When I parked in front, I saw someone standup and go to the back as I was entering but couldn’t make out who it was. It was a different young girl there. When I told her I was there to speak with the owner, she said he wasn’t there as she kept glancing towards the back where the other person had gone. I was distressed over this entire matter for many days after and I still don’t understand how the situation could have gotten so bad that they would evict us…over a service dog at a pet friendly hotel. Needless to say, I will never stay here again. To anyone with a service dog, I recommend that when you initial the NO PET form that you write SERVICE DOG off to the side so that you have proof you told them. My brother has finally starting talking to me again but I doubt he will ever accept another hotel recommendation from me ever again.
Mostly hood
I was surprised to see outdoor entrances to rooms. I expected inside hallways. For safety reasons I prefer indoor corridors. It was mostly good, the bathroom in the lobby smelt very clean. The room smelt a little funky. And I noticed some pee left on the floor in the bathroom. So that wasn’t great
HORRIBLE FRONT DESK
UNPROFESSIONAL! THE MAN AT THE DESK WAS RUDE RIGHT FROM THE START! He asked to charge my credit card I said “No I’m paying with cash!” He asked in a rude voice “WELL DO YOU HAVE A $100 deposit?” I SAID YES I DO! BUT GIVR ME I.D BACK” I’m going somewhere else! HOW RUDE! He said sorry you fee that way!
Decent not the best
We stayed here while in The area one night. All rooms enter from the outside no hallways. Pretty sure people are living in this hotel. They charged a $100 incidental fee to my credit card that took almost a week to get off my card. Other choice hotels just hold my card number for incidentals and never charge it. Our room was fairly clean. There was soap in the soap holder in the shower that had not been cleaned off from previous guest. No breakfast because of Covid. We had an OK experience except my wife’s stress waiting on the $100 incidentals charge to be taken off our card. If your looking for a cheep no frills fairly clean place to sleep for a night while in the North Richland Hills area you might like this hotel. If your on vacation it’s not a good choice. A lot of creepy people hanging out around this hotel. Like I said I’m pretty sure people are living in this hotel. It’s not family friendly.
