Not for me...

As I travel extensively around the world, I usually try to avoid "Boutique" Hotels, as in my experience generally this is another word for "Small" or indeed "tiny." On arrival at the Rosenbohm Design Hotel, my heart sank, and in fact it transpired that the word "Boutique" was even more correct on this occasion because it turned out that this so-called Hotel was in fact a showroom selling furniture and other household goods on the ground floor with an after-thought of a few rooms upstairs. The room I was allocated was reasonably comfortable and quiet, (if you could ignore the trains passing across the street,) but attention to detail was poor. For example, the bathroom was really small, with the "wet" look, meaning a shower would spray water all over the floor, and although there was plenty of space for mirrors on the wall, some genius had arranged to have two mirrors each side of the basin, facing each other, so to see into them for drying hair etc meant leaning sideways across the wash basin! The so-called Reception was in fact the shop, and there was no-one around at all after 7 pm, no Bar, Restaurant, anything resembling a proper hotel. My three colleagues and I were happy to leave after a couple of days, looking forward to the services that a real hotel could offer...this place was simply not for us!
A very special Hotel, do not miss it.

If you want to experience a special hotel, this is the place to stay. A friendly reception was the start, the room was exclusively designed. Never had a breakfast in such a form, you sit down and your wishes are brought to the table. It is presented as a little food tower on your table. Fresh Flowers on the Table and in the room is just another small detail. We feel the price is definitely worth it.

We stayed for a couple of days over Easter and I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel and the service we received. We arrived outside of normal check in hours and were warmly received by our host, who was extremely attentive during our stay. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you could want. We were presented with a very impressive breakfast each morning and the other amenities were top notch. Our rental car broke down on the morning of departure and our host spoke to the hire company numerous times (in German) to resolve the situation. We were extremely grateful and will definitely stay here again in the summer. Thank you for looking after us.
Small, quiet, clean, cosy design hotel

Design yes, hotel share building with interior shop. So good quality furniture and smart solutions that works in the room. The hotel is not overrun on Sundays so they call you day before arrival and arrange to welcome you.
The bar (coffee, tea and various soft and alcoholics) are at disposal for self service after hours - works fine (but if you are longing for company this is not a hangout bar to meet others). The breakfest was very very good - first class. All I wanted (and more) fresh and delicat served at your table.
The beds are good - so you wont have trouble sleeping here.
The hotel is next to the train line across the street - so separated by a few hundred meters froim the town centre and shopping area - which is a real treat - do make time for a walk in the old town.
Wonderful hotel in a fantastic town

This hotel is very unique and quirky. The rooms are a great showcase for the modern furniture and home accessories that you can purchase in the shop on the ground floor.
Rooms are stylish, comfortable and ultra modern. Bathrooms are fantastic - ours had a great wet room with gorgeous mosaic tiles.
We had originally asked for the ground floor room with courtyard, but this was unavailable during our stay. However, we were not disappointed in any way with our room. The rooms are not air conditioned but a fan is provided.
Guests have access to a shared fridge and there is an honesty bar downstairs where you can help yourselves to a wide variety of drinks, including beer, wine and spirits. Water and coffee are complementary and you can also help yourself to chocolate, sweets and biscuits.
The breakfast was amazing and we really enjoyed eating outside in the courtyard. A lot of thought had gone into the presentation of food.
The only thing you need to be aware of is there is no car park attached to the hotel so you are required to buy a car park ticket. There is a public car park opposite the hotel. There is also no lift so it is advisable to take a light bag to carry upstairs.
The hotel is within very easy walking distance of Oldenburg town centre which has a fantastic selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.
This is a very special hotel and we can't wait to come back again to experience the Christmas market!
