Fine, but overpriced for what you get

Avaliou em 21 de novembro de 2017

The room was small but on a par with other places we've stayed in Japan, though the bathroom was pretty cramped. The room was generally clean (the blind could do with a clean), bed was comfortable, there was a small fridge and there were robes and slippers. It was all generally comfortable but very aged and tired. Main positive is the position, opposite the bike rental and next to a convenience store, and a short walk from the station. We've paid a lot less for similar rooms in other towns, so for the price it did feel a bad deal and would have been much improved if an extra such as breakfast had been included.

Location, location, location

Hotel Daiichi is one of the ore run-down hotels we've stayed in in Japan. It was clean and comfortable, just past its prime. The room was modest-sized (like all Japanese rooms). On the plus-side, it had a frdge to store our breakfast before heading out on the Shimananami Kaido. The best thing about the hotel is that it is literally across the street from the bike rental shop for the Shimanami Kaido. The hotel is about a five minuate walk from the JR station. If you return after doing the Shimanami Kaido, the hotel has coin laundry on the top floor to wash your smelly riding clothes.

Small but good location

Hotel was located near the train station, and right opposite the bicycle rental and pier. The room was small and toilet was rather cramped, but still value for money. We did not try their breakfast as there were bakeries near the train station. A pleasant surprise was the unexpected sea view from our room.

Good hotel for visiting cyclists

Avaliou em 13 de abril de 2017

This is a good small city hotel by Japanese standards. Rooms are smallish but the staff are great and there is cycle storage in the front reception area - safe and secure. Imabari is worth a day visit if you are cycling the Shimanani Kaido.

Functional

If you're doing the Shimanami Kaido cycleway you could do a lot worse than stay in this hotel. It's right across the street from bike hire and also a gentrified wharf warehouse with eateries. It's also close to the Onomichi railway station. The rooms are tired but everything seemed to work! Staff were helpful.
