Friendly, helpful staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Lots of little details in the room and in the breakfast/coffee area. Breakfast area organized nicely and everything bagged and labeled, better than my expectations. A good value. I have paid more at other hotels for less. I would stay here again.

We almost missed it -- and that would have been a shame

We had planned to stay at the Americinn in Osceola at the start of a family trip in mid-February. Heavy wet snow from our home in Wisconsin through Iowa changed our plans and we went south to dodge the storm. We had to cancel that night in Osceola. But, on the way home, we did get the chance to stop. And we were glad we did. I can't say much about the location near a freeway intersection and close to railroad tracks but the hotel itself was just what we needed. It was clean. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of electrical outlets. We didn't have a chance to use the in-room coffeemaker because the coffee in the lobby next to the breakfast area was the best we'd had on our trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had asked for a pet-free room because of allergies. The desk clerk told me that already was in the notes. And when I went downstairs for some coffee she asked me if the room was OK. It was. Check-in and check-out was smooth and simple. The only thing I would change was the in-room temperature control unit. No matter how low we turned it the room still felt warm. We finally just turned it off. End of problem. All in all, I was happy with the hotel and glad we stayed there.

Pet friendly & Clean!

The room was very clean! Beds were comfy! They have laundry facility on site. Large open area behind the hotel for pets to potty. Super close to Walmart, Taco Bell, KFC, Arby’s and just off the highway. Very easy to find. Didn’t use the pool. Breakfast is a Continental breakfast only. No hot options. Staff was very friendly.

Rude front counter attendant

Charlie the front desk attendant was rude to my wife 2 different times including the one about our little dog that she accused us of lieing about having with us even tho we had him in our arms when we checked in. She was also very rude when my wife asked a question about the breakfast, almost as if how dare we question her about what was being served or available. Even when I checked out myself after not having a confrontation with her at all myself she said “ O your the ones in room 206 “ and grabbed my room keys. I really hope this woman doesn’t represent your whole company. I’ve stared in your motels multiple times in the past through work but doubt I will again

On January third Mary took my reservation over the phone and couldn’t have been more pleasant. I asked for a room on the first floor, and she even gave the first floor room number assigned to my reservation. When I checked in, later that day, the front desk experience was most unpleasant. At check-in, Nicole told me that I would be on the second floor. When I shared that Mary had offered a room on the first floor, as I had requested, Nicole became agitated and even combative. She said that they didn’t give out room numbers in advance. I had written the room number when taking the reservation, and offered to return to my car and retrieve my notes to show it to her. I also said that she was being unprofessional, as I was beginning to feel interrogated in a purely condescending manner, my honesty being questioned. She quieted down and finally said she could put me on the first floor, after all. The room was fine, if a little overpriced. Mary was excellent in her people skills. I’m not sure how Nicole slipped through the Wyndham hiring system, as my front desk experience was most unwelcoming. I have traveled extensively for almost 50 years, and I can’t recollect another time that I was scolded by a front desk clerk. I pass through Osceola often, as we have a house in Iowa and another home in Oklahoma. When I need to stop over in Osceola again, I’ll most likely choose another hotel option.
