I have traveled all over the U.S. Ive stayed in 4 star hotels. Comfort Suites in Owensboro is simply outstanding. Very Clean, good bed, nice pool, good breakfast, great price. But what really makes the difference is the people. The general manager Roger is exceptional, is professionalism and customer service is simply top notch prob the best Ive ever met. His entire staff including the Assistant Gen Manager and cleaning staff were simply wonderful and did an excellent job. I had several requests and they were always accommodating. We stayed while we were going to Holiday World over a 2 week period, stayed 6 nights.
I dont know if Comfort Suites corporate reads these, but Roger, his Assistant Manager Carla
And the rest of the staff deserve to be recognized for their level of dedication and work ethic in todays work climate. They deserve a bonus or raise for their customer service, professionalism, attention to detail.
We will be staying at Comfort Suites when we are in Owensboro from now on.

Overall, the hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfy. The drawback was that we expected to be able to go swimming. After we ate dinner, we came back to the hotel and changed into our swimsuits. We walked to where the pool area was and could not get in the door with our key card. My husband went to the front desk to inquire and was told the pool was not open but not given any explanation as to why. When he complained he was told that it was posted on the website but I have yet to find it posted on there. There was no signs posted anywhere in the hotel. It was not closed due to Covid because there was a sign on the door stating to not enter if you had symptoms. I would expect a hotel like this would let you know when you check in that the pool was closed or at least post it on your front door. We have stayed in Owensboro before and there are much nicer hotels that are honest.

New front desk person, a few issues checking in. Room clean, but dated. Larger than normal gap on door when closing, had 2 security locks on it. I thought that odd and didn't give me a warm feeling. Nice cabinet that coffee pot was on top, but no place to plug in. Had to move to a desk. No Kleenex. Bathroom no space to put anything. Since no extra space on sink, need shelf underneath

My experience was unsatisfactory from the time I walked into the hotel. I had made the reservation the day before and specifically asked if we could pay cash as long as I had a debit/credit card on file. They assured me that was fine and I even called the morning of check in to confirm this. My husband and I got to the hotel and was greeted very rudely by an older guy who told us they did not take cash or debit cards, only credit, but he would be happy to cancel our reservation. So we walked away but were unable to find other accommodations. My husband decided to go back and talk to them. There was 2 different front desk clerks there and they appeared to have no problem taking cash. However, this older guy quickly appeared and said not to rent to us. He once again said that the hotel had NEVER taken cash. My husband told him we stayed in January and paid cash. We even offered a cash deposit along with the debit card on file. One of the others looked it up and confirmed that we had paid cash before. Then the older angry "manager" stormed off like a two year old and said fine rent to them no deposit and when they destroy the room it's on you all not me. It's then that we realised he was discriminating against us because of our appearance. My husband and I have tattoos and he has long hair, I guess this led him to assume we would party and trash the place. If this man truly is a manager, he shouldn't be. Room was ok. There was crushed chips and fruit loops on the floor leading ne ti believe no one vacuumed. Very unhappy and will not stay here again.

The desk clerk Ms Meeks was very friendly and personable. The room was very clean. The breakfast was "A" typical of most motel chains. The presentation was very neat and clean. WiFi worked very well also.
