Used to be home away from home
As the title says, it used to be home away from home. Now, the dinning area is cleared out, the bar is shut down and there is so little in the market place i could call it depressing. Again, as I have been finding out that the web site DOES not reflect the current closed restaurant or bar OR gym. One gets the pleasure of finding that out on arrival. “You can get food delivered “ i keep hearing this and that takes time. More time then most people have in certain situations. HOW about having pre packaged food ( like you used to have ) available for ALL guests or restaurant open for take out only? Nah...that’d be too proactive. Let the guests fend for themselves. You get to pay top dollar for a room and internet. Disappointing. EVERY hotel should remember that WE remember. Enough said.
Courtyard Marriot lacks those little extras
Why no complimentary coffee in the lobby at Courtyard ? Why no complimentary breakfast ??? Never staying with this cheapo chain again. We've recently stayed at two different Courtyard hotels and it was the same cheapskate story... and the Courtyard in Ronkonkoma Long Island even charged us 10 bucks per night for parking... on Long Island !

Stayed here for week five of a six week road trip to NY for work From the time I checked in to the time I checked out, I had no complaints. Although it's not nearly as upscale as Marriott''s Residence Inns, it did the trick for me. Well designed room with plenty of room to stretch out and relax in the living area, kitchenette was almost as big as the one at home and fully stocked with anything a person could need. All that was needed was food to cook. The bathroom was to die for. Large, well designed, and a shower that didn't run out of hot water!! And the bedroom closet was more than adequate for hanging a weeks worth of clothes and still be able to stash my suit case with no problem. Breakfast every morning was good. The breakfast staff were constantly filling the hot foods until after posted hours and always asked if we needed anything else before they started breaking things down. When my co-worker and I came back to the hotel dragging, we were greeted by Wanda and her infectious smile and contagious laugh was an absolute joy to interact with.
Very pleasant stay
We enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard Republic Marriott. Our room had two queen size beds which were very comfortable. Nice clean room with fresh linens. Good size room with a microwave and mini frig. I am a Marriott Rewards member and was pleasantly surprised to see a handwritten note in my room welcoming me. A candy bar, bag of pretzels, and two bottles of water accompanied the note. I thought that was very nice and personalized. The hotel lobby was contemporary and had a bistro with a bar. We used the bistro in the morning to get a quick breakfast. There is a free hotel shuttle that brings hotel guests to locations within 5 miles. We had to go to the Farmingdale train station which worked out perfect. All hotel staff were courteous and helpful. We didn't have a car but there appeared to be ample parking. A very pleasant one night stay.
Theft/email to GM still not answered
My husband and attended a wedding for a close friend the weekend of August 9-11. On the day of my checkout 8/11 I decided last minute to change my shoes. I placed them near the door. My large piece of luggage must of blocked my view and I left them there. I carefully unpacked Sunday evening and realized that my shoes were left behind. I immediately called the hotel that same evening and was told lost and found was closed until Monday morning. I admin called and left message. No response. I finally spoke to Kevin who promised to follow up with me immediately. I again called teaching vm. He did call and stated that nothing was turned in. These were brand new expensive gym shoes. I know that they were left behind#never staying atMarriott again. Things just don’t disappear.. they walk
