Needs updating
Hotel needs updating. Pool and breakfast area are closed due to COVID restrictions. Can not blame hotel. Nice grab and go breakfast, muffins, water and granola bar. Room was disappointing. One bedroom suite. Only two pillows on each queen bed, and only two large towels for this family style room. Pull out couch was broken. None of us slept well and we left early.
Won't stay here again
We only needed a place to sleep as we were driving across the country. The pool was closed (maybe this is a part of a mandate--i don't know), but the pool has disgusting stagnant green/brown water sitting in it. If it's closed, either drain it or keep it clean. This made me wonder how clean the rest of the hotel was since the pool area was so neglected. The bag breakfast was pitiful--a muffin, a granola bar, and a water. The pillows in the room were so flat and uncomfortable. A room with 2 beds (and 4 guests) only had 2 towels in it so we had to go get towels so we could all shower. I wouldn't stay there again, even after all of Covid is done. No thanks. So disappointing.
one and done
My family booked two rooms for one night at this hotel. Hotel looked nice from outside and lobby was nice. Checkin went ok, but once in the room things went a little south. Room was not as clean as I thought it should be. Stains could be found in the carpet, furniture was ready to be repaired or replaced. The tub spout was coming out of the wall. These issues are not why I am giving a rating of a 2. The biggest issues are the noise level from adjoining rooms, especially if there is someone above you. Apparently the room above us had a family staying in it with a small child. You could here the young child running nonstop. At midnight, my wife had enough of listening to the constant thumping sound of the child running and decided to call the front desk. The first time she called, the person answered the phone then immediately hungup. My wife then called back and this time the person told my wife to quit playing games and they hung up on her again. Around this time, the child above us had apparently been put to bed. We only wanted the front desk to call the room above us or move us. I did communicate this to the front desk when we checked out the next morning. The clerk said she would communicate the concern to the manager. I am unsure if she did. I highly recommend looking into staying at another hotel if you are visiting Paducah.
Very Disappointed
When we lived in Ohio we traveled frequently on weekends and often stayed at a Country Inn and Suites and found all of them to be quite comfortable. The Paducah, Ky location could not live up to my previous standards that we came to expect from this chain. My first impression of this property is that it is not being maintained at high standards. The sidewalk from the parking lot has trees adjacent and leaning such that the walkway is partially obstructed and present a safety risk under high winds or the ground being saturated from excessive rain. In addition, I have a hard time understanding why you would install a super wide door at the entrance to the bathroom that would hit someone setting on the toilet when opened, but then install the narrowest shower I have ever seen making it very uncomfortable to use (unable to stand with feet at shoulder width). In addition, the toilets are the lowest to the ground that I have ever seen making them quite uncomfortable to use. The pillows (5 in total) presented on the bed in the room were all half size and provided no variations for different types of sleepers. The pillows were all fake overfilled and too firm. I have never seen a king size bed presented with only head pillows and no optional standard/queen/king spares on the shelf or in a drawer or somewhere in the room. The bed also had only white linens and a 12” wide tapestry at the foot end for apparently a splash of color since it provided no warmth. What happened to a bed having a blanket and a spare on the shelf if you needed additional warmth? Lastly, the quality of the mattress was such that it gave me a bad backache and a very poor nights sleep. I think I understand now why more people are choosing RV’s to travel. The travel industry is apparently out of touch with what they should be providing to their customers first and foremost! Safety, comfort, and cleanliness!
Country Inn & Disappointment
Arrived at 6pm and check in was relatively smooth. Sadly discovered the pool was closed but I blame the KY governor for that. It then got worse. We opened the door to the room and immediately noticed carpet stains and torn, damaged furniture. As we were traveling w a child who needed to go to bed, we decided to just deal with it vs asking to move rooms or leave. So we ate our dinner and unpacked. It got worse again. When my wife went to give our 1 yr old a bath she discovered the tub was unable to be a tub!!? I went to front desk to ask for a stopper and they confirmed the tub diverters had been modified to only allow for showering and suggested I use a towel to slow the flow of water and attempt to use the tub. Wow. When I see a picture of a bathtub, it’s expected that it is functional. We’ve stayed at a number of Country Inn and suites over the years and this is by far the WORST. Fortunately we stayed at two Embassy Suites on this same trip (Nashville and STL) and those were WAY better.... guess Embassy will be my go to hotel now.
