Such amazing hospitality!!!
This Hampton Inn has it’s own personal flair! The vibe shouts out personal attention, commitment, service, and love! I’m a visiting veterinarian from Palm Beach County here to work triage, and this will not be my only trip. The staff has welcomed me so kindly, shout out to Jane, Johnny and Carol! You Rock! Where there is excellence there is leadership, and leadership exudes excellence here with Manager Lisa! Thank you Lisa for your kindness and hospitality! See you in a few weeks!!! Oh and this trip included my service dog Vinny. He says paws up as well!!!
We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites We were slightly nervous staying at a hotel due to Covid19. But after being more or less stuck in FL for three months, we simply had to get home to NY. We read and heard that people in the service industry were going out of their way....cleaning and sterilizing everything they could. We decided, therefore, to take the chance on driving back home. We arrived at the Hampton Inn and Suites, Palm Coast FL on Thursday. May 28. Our "Welcome" was not at all "Welcome". The girl at the front desk could not even pretend to smile at us. It's understandable that nobody was exactly ecstatic in these times. But a hotel is part of a service industry. She truly could have pretended that the hotel welcomed us. Perhaps a job in a back room void of people would suit her better. Getting to our room was "different" ...As we neared the room we noticed an unpleasant odor in the hallway. The carpet was stained in quite a few places. Not a cool thing to see. And we felt like we were part of the story "Hansel and Gretel". As we got closer to the room, we also noticed there were crumbs all along the carpet. Quite unusual! We have stayed at this hotel before. Without the crumbs. Or the stains. Or the odor. (A tad disconcerting) We were more than happy to get out of the hallway and into our room, where we would not leave till breakfast. As we entered our room, we realized the room had the same odor as the hallway. Sad. We were not about to ask Miss Congeniality for another room. The toilet seat was put on slightly cockeyed. OK...kind of goes with our grand entrance into the hotel. There were no bars to hang a towel by the sink. Only a round bar by the shower. One of the tiny end tables by the bed was dirty. It looked much better after I washed it! (See pics) I decided to put our larger suitcase on the little luggage cart that is always in the closet of a hotel room. Well....obviously not THIS hotel room! We decided to go to the lobby and just walk around a little. Besides....it didn't smell in the lobby. We walked a little in the lobby and my wife decided she'd use the rest room. What a surprise !!!!!... they were out of order! You know that the icing on the cake is complete when you go to the FREE BREAKFAST that is generally horrid in these places and it's worse than ever. Simply amazing. I am void of any more complaints. If only I could say something nice. But I can't. When we go back to FL in around 8 or 9 months, things will have to change. Like another hotel. And we thought Covid 19 was scary. Ha!
Staff not very friendly. Breakfast suppose to close at 9:00 am my husband came in at 8:45 and they already had the doors closed. They rush you out of breakfast and the waffle maker was broken and they had no intention to bother fixing it. Breakfast was scarce and not good. Girl working in the breakfast room was rude to me and other people. Staff not very friendly. I expressed my opinion to the girl at the front desk about what happened at breakfast and she did nothing and told me she would tell her manager. Due to Covid they dont come in Your room so we had to Go down to the front desk and ask for toilet paper towels and garbage bags, which we were not told about either. Then I told them my garbage was full what to do, they told me it was my responsibility to take down the towels and garbage, which I told them I will leave it outside my door and housekeeping can pick it up. I don’t work here. Overall not very happy with the accommodations and service from the staff. Probably won’t stay again when I visit my family again.
Bugs in the bed
I arranged this room for my daughter. The room was lovely, a typical Hampton Inn. No problem, right? Except when she pulled back the covers, there were bugs in the bed. This is unacceptable. No one is answering the phone so I have told her to leave and I will find her somewhere else to stay. Ridiculous.
Great Stopover to South Florida
Coming from Charlotte, we decided to drive 2/3 of the trip before stopping (definitely getting past the Jacksonville traffic). Great choice located right off I-95. It is one of the “old style” Hampton Inn & Suites with vanity/sink outside the “bathroom” but for one night night it was fine. The hotel and rooms are exceptionally clean and recently refurbished. Clean and no pets are my two priorities!!! Also nice Italian restaurant within walking distance from hotel.
