The inner courtyard of this hotel is what makes it special. Very beautiful Spanish colonial architecture with fountains and gardens in the middle. The rooms are a good size but with a small bathroom. We found the bed hard and the shower was like a pressure washer. These are the only reasons we cannot give it an excellent rating. Staff was friendly and it's only a 10 min walk to the square.
Lovely hotel in a quiet location
I stayed with a friend in Hotel Pueblo Magico for several nights. It's located 4 or 5 blocks from the main plaza, about a 7 minute walk, so it's quiet. The courtyard and portales are lovely, with comfortable chairs in which to read with a cup of tea. On one chilly, rainy day, I pulled a chair up to the ground floor fireplace and spent the morning reading there while keeping warm. Our double room was fine, clean, and simply furnished, but not much room to move around. The bathroom was better than average (in my experience), and the shower had the best water pressure I've experienced in Mexico! For a night or two we were the only guests. The manager was thoughtful enough to turn on the space heater in our room -- which we had requested due to the cold weather. She also set up a small coffee percolator near our room and provided us with cookies for the morning. Every member of the staff I had contact with was friendly and always asked if we needed anything. My only suggestion for improvement would be to serve a better/stronger quality coffee and real milk instead of packets of powdered Coffeemate. Breakfast isn't provided, but when there are more guests in the hotel, there is coffee and a selection of sweet breads from a local bakery in the lobby. There are several choices of hotels and restaurants around the Plaza where you can find good breakfasts a short walk away.
Janitzio and beyond
We stayed two nights in this beautiful hotel close to the town. The rooms and courtyard are full of charm. It’s central to many attractions. Unfortunately, there was an issue with WiFi and hot water but if they get those two problems fixed, I’d be happy to give them five stars.....
Best Hotel in Patzcuaro
An absolutely wonderful hotel. Staff were tremendous, very friendly and professional. The hotel lobby has a lovely natural rain forest theme with a beautiful water fountain. The rooms were very comfortable. Highly recommended! Thank you for a lovely stay.
This hotel has many things going for it. The things include a great location, comfortable beds, spacious rooms, secure parking, good wifi, hot water, courteous staff, cleanliness, and great value. I have nothing but good things to stay.
