It will be nice someday, but not today
The hotel is under renovation. The lobby, restaurant, even front entrance are unusable. My room was really nice, roomy with nicely designed decorations and furniture. It was great right up until the point I had to shower. No hot water. A really nice marble walk-in shower with cold water. Awesome. I told the front desk on my way out to my meeting. Of course they offered to send someone up, as I was checking out. Not ideal. The hotel should be closed until it’s ready for guests. It is not. Long time Hhonors member, very disappointed.
STAY AWAY!
What a mess! Shame on Hilton for taking peoples money and not telling them the condition of the property! We pulled in and thought we were at an abandoned hotel! No landscape maintenance, no lighting and yellow caution tape randomly around along with dumpsters and mess! We pulled around to what looked like it may have once been the front to find more yellow caution tape and a small sign on the doors saying to go to the conference center to check in?!? Well we find that door and it’s a makeshift check in area and a few snacks on a folding table and a microwave! It was 6:00 pm and only one lady was working and had multiple guests needing help and the phone ringing. She was wonderful which is the ONLY reason I didn’t run for the first Marriott I saw down the road. This lady was a one women show apparently at the property bc she was there everyday, trying to hold this mess together! Anyhow, we were told to pull around to the area where our room was. It was so bad my husband was worried for the safety of our vehicle overnight! The lock on the door to the first floor on the side was broken and there was very little lighting and LOTS of wet leaves all over the steps. Plus trash everywhere from guests. The bag of trash I took a picture of stayed around for over 48hrs and at one point was blocking the door in. The room was redone somewhat but didn’t seem quite up to Hilton standards. I am so upset that we were not told about the renovation condition of this hotel and lack of maintenance. I checked the Hilton App and the website and it did not say anything other than some amenities were closed due to COVID. I called Hilton and told them about all these issues and hoped they would do something but nothing changed, trash still all over and what not. Do yourself a favor Hilton and close this property until it’s ready to be reopened to the public bc it’s horrible and you will lose way more loyal Hilton Honors members like myself by continuing to book this location!
Worst Hilton experience of my life
The evening front desk staff was unhelpful. Had placed us in a handicap room that did not allow us to hang our holiday attire in closet space allowing only 18" hanging height above room safe. Told that was all they had, even though we had booked a king poolside room. After trying to solve the problem pleasantly over the phone and getting no where two calls later, a trip back down to the front desk demanding to speak with a manager was required. We were than finally moved to the king poolside room we had booked, though assured it was an upgrade, ugh. Relieved to finally unpack, we were certain the worst was over. While fixing the towel bar that feel off the wall, we realized the room had not been stocked, no soaps, coffee, etc in the new room. After another call, supplies were delivered, problem solved. The next morning we asked about room cleaning and requested our room be cleaned or at least towels refreshed. Our room was never cleaned, nor were towels refreshed, even though requested on two days. Told both days to leave the dirty towels on the floor for cleaning, making them unable to be reused. On the last day we could not even get clean towels to shower, told they were all out. Staff did not wear masks nor take covid precautions. The one day we were given only one towel that was sitting unfolded on the front desk counter, not sure how long it had been there and how many people touched and talked over it without masks, very unsanitary and unsettling. We were also not aware the restaurant was going to be closed, no mention of it in our booking. It was by far the worst Hilton experience we've ever had. Very upsetting and disappointed.
Zero Covid Standards
We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, and always had a great experience. It has been a wonderful place to meet family in the area, and the restaurant was great. When we booked tbe reservation there was no mention that the hotel was under major construction. Upon arrival in the evening, the desk attendant was maskless, as were several ladies in a bridal party. No other guests or employees were wearing masks. My husband and I work in healthcare and have seen the devastation of COVID-19 up closr, and it was a shock to see no one in a mask! We drove across the country to get here, and every Hilton affiliated hotel that we stayed in had tight COVID protocols. The main lobby was locked, so we entered through a side door to check in. We asked the desk aytendant why she wasn't wearing a mask, and she laughed and said that she had asthma and it made her uncomfortable. We checked in, took our luggage through the caution-taped walkway marked off to get to the elevators. There was construction debris everywhere - half opened Elkay sink boxes, piles of material. It was unbelievable that we had not been advised that a project of this magnitude was underway. The room was nice and comfortable. The next morning a group of housekeepers not wearing masks invited us to share an elevator with them. We declined. After many happy years of staying at this hotel, I don't think we'll be back.
First visit
We loved the location. Right on the golfcart path and near the lake, shopping & restaurants. The room was nice. Bathroom looked newly renovated. I especially enjoyed the balcony with chairs while the weather was nice. Nice to be able to get fresh air. The construction was not pleasant. I had to call to find out where to enter since the main entry was blocked and i didnt see signs. On entering no one had on a mask, staff or customers. Construction workers all over with no masks. When the construction is over and the pandemic is controlled I would return.
