First time visiting this establishment and it did not disappoint. Bags of character. Lovely meal and service here, first time having Vimeo coke and it was a delight. Service was great and the food was hit and in large portions will definitely visit again.

We were staying overnight to attend a family wedding anniversary nearby and booked for lunchtime meal. Amanda looked after us wonderfully and my wife had just the best liver and bacon while myself and our cousin had ham egg and chips!! Wow, the taste of the egg and ham and the chips...sure traditional pub fare was just simply the best!! I had a chocolate pavlova pudding that was equally divine. We stayed for breakfast too, and it definitely was a 5 star affair. Accommodation was very good too so can heartily recommend this should you be in the area

Disappointing and Dreary

The staff were great, did everything they could to make you feel at home, the room was spotlessly clean but in dia need of work. We were at the back of the hotel over the kitchen and dining room, the noise from the extractor system was ridiculous and was on all the time the kitchen was open. The wall between the rooms were very thin and you could here people going to the toilet in the next room. Our room (25) had a very strong damp smell and you would not want to spend any time in the room.

Off the beaten track but setting was great and well worth the effort to find. Restaurant was very popular so we always booked ahead. Food was always very good, never bothered to eat out in the evening. Staff very friendly and worked together which created a relaxed atmosphere. Room was clean and comfortable with maid service every day we stayed. In short we would recommend and go back again.

Hi booked to have a meal at 7.30 and all was goo so far waitress showed us to the table then waitress came back to take our drinks order. Ordered our meal whilst all of our glasses were empty and did not offer us another drink so we waited and finished our starters and still nothing!!!! About an hour later our mains turned up and all was ok apart from my daughter had fish and chips that was full of grease so don’t recommend the fish and chips!!! Yet think it was about an hour and a half before they even offered and asked if we would like another drink but finally got our drinks. Waitress came over with our drinks on a tray And could not even be bothered to take away the empty glasses!!! We liked the place but think the service was very poor.
