Your private Italian villa in Mexico

A very beautiful, clean townhouse with a large yard consisting of patio, parking space with bicycle stand, lawn, and many trees and flowering plants, in a quiet working-class neighborhood. There are only two bedrooms, one of which is smaller, overlooking the jungle; the other has a balcony. The owners, Paola and Stefano, are charming, kind, caring, helpful and accommodating in every respect. Casa Coral is the perfect place to book if you are renting a car and would like to stay away from the noise and commotion of the 5th -- 10th ave. central areas. We were able to drive to Walmart (on 30th Ave., between 8th and 12th St.) and use their underground parking whenever we wanted to browse the "tourist trap" or eat at one of the restaurants there. Walking in the immediate neighborhood proved to be a very pleasant experience, even at night. It felt perfectly safe! The streets are alive with people and the small restaurants and food stands are busy with customers even after 11 pm. Our favorite place to eat was on 30th Ave. and 32nd St. -- "El Fogon Del May" -- the food was always delicious, the service very fast, the staff extremely friendly and helpful (there was always someone who spoke English, in case we had questions) -- the tacos al pastor were to die for! Our vacation at Casa Coral was one of the best we've ever had and we were enriched with wonderful memories to cherish for the rest of our lives. We look forward to keeping in touch with Paola, Stefano and Pablito, and will definitely return for another vacation there!

Very peaceful and relaxing.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Coral B&B. The property was very clean, attractive and interesting. The breakfast was a delight, served on the patio with a huge bowl of fresh fruit and juice as well as toast and eggs if you wanted. The patio was beautiful with plantain, bougainvillea, azalea and cactus in bloom and an outdoor shower if you needed to refresh. We liked the dogs, they were very friendly and we appreciated the privacy and safety of the fencing. We enjoyed the location. We were a nice 10 min walk to a quiet beach, a stones throw from a grocer, and internet café and a short walk to get fresh tortillas. We even walked into Playa Del Carmen one day and it was an enjoyable time strolling past the shops and talking to the locals. Payola and Stefano lent us some bikes and we rode into town and back thru all the back streets. That was very interesting as the people are very friendly and helpful, and we ran into a fresh bakery and seafood shop. We toured Ek Balam, Mayan ruins , with Miguel from Santana Taxi Tours. He was a lot of fun and showed us a lot of interesting places. It was nice to have a local guide and he was very reasonably priced for the time and effort he spent with us. I would definitely go back to the Casa Coral, only for a longer time. Thank you Paola and Stefano.

"nice place"

Casa Coral was a great place to start our trip. It was very clean, in a great location (away from the tourist trap of 5th ave) and Paola was very accommodating. Very quick to reply to email and questions prior to our arrival which really helped out. We arrived late, 10pm and Paola was there waiting for us with our room keys, etc. Breakfast in the morning was very nice with the two options and it was nice to start the day eating outside. The location for some might cause issues for some people but we really enjoyed where it was located. We would either take a walk to the beach or catch a 50 cent bus ride into town (on the 30th ave.,) then walk the few blocks down to 5th. Great place and if I'm back in Playa I will be staying there for sure.

clean, friendly out of the awful touristy area, this is a great way to get to know real playa del carmen

Casa Coral was great, it was very close to the main autopista and was easy to find. We rented a car from cacun airport and it was a fast hop on/off the highway about 40 min drive. The area was out of the main touristy strip which was great for me, im sadden to see how playa has become a big shopping tourist trap. We walked to the beach which was nice and clean, which was not very crowded, blue green water; you can walk all the way up to the main strip of playa del carmen and you will see all the beach chairs, beds lined up for all of the crowded resorts that are literally on top of each other.... Paola made a delicious breakfast, and she made us a to go snack because we were leaving early for the airport. They own a Pizzeria; Pintores , and its was just a 5 min walk with delicous pizza. Just FYI the rooms have private bathrooms; but they are not inside the room; one of them is next to your room and the other one downstairs. My shower was very tiny and the shower head was very tall, so in order for water to get to your body they need a hand shower; and she agreed that it was a good idea. Would definitely stay there again.
