I stayed here for a couple of days when I needed to be close to the Naval Hospital. You get what you pay for. Cleanliness in the rooms could definitely be improved. It smelled faintly of smoke in the lobby/hallways however my room was smoke free. Beds are comfortable. Front desk staff are friendly and the woman at breakfast is an absolute joy. Very few people were masked (guests or staff).

First time in Norfolk, accompanied nephew for college entry. I do not recommend it, needs upgrades for the price. Would never stay here again. Room was dirty, shower had mold. Tried to cancel but was given the run around, not a happy camper.

Worst hotel experience in my life! I arrived at the hotel at about 350am after a night in the navy hospital with my military son. The front desk clerk told us that if we waited until 4am the system would count our reservation as the next day so we wouldn't have to check out at 11am. So we waited, checked in and went to bed. Around 8am the phone started ringing. After several calls, I got up and answered and a very curt person asked if we would be staying overnight. I told him we had a reservation for that day and intended to stay. He said, ok then I'm charging your card for another night because we are fully booked. I got up and went to the lobby and told the guy at the front desk that I was told my reservation was for that day per my conversation with the clerk earlier that morning. I also said I was really frustrated as we had just checked in at 4am and they called repeatedly and woke us up. He insisted that our reservation was not for that day and we had to check out at 11 because he was fully booked that night. I asked to see a manager and he said he was the owner. I asked if I could call corporate and he said, "Do you have a phone?", I said yes, then he said "Do you have google?" and I just looked at him and said "seriously are you really talking to me like this". He yelled back that I had no right to get angry with him and that if I was going to get angry he was going to get angry and I didn't want to see him angry. He was banging his fists on the counter and the veins were popping out of his neck. I thought he was going to jump through the window and hurt me, I was so terrified I burst into tears and I asked if he was threatening me and he said, thats it, I'm calling the police, you're out of here. At that point, I started crying hysterically. I told him my sick military son was sleeping in the room, we had a horrible night in the emergency room and I had to let him rest. He had video of the conversation with the clerk from when I checked in so I asked him to please check the video. He started yelling at me that he would look at it but "not another word from me" if I spoke a word he would call the police. He turned on the video and played the part where the clerk said "If you check in now, you will have to check out at 11am" then he hit stop. and said "see you were told to check out at 11" He didn't play the rest of the conversation where the clerk said if you wait until 4am you won't have to check out since the reservation will be the next day. I was crying hysterically at that time for fear of having to drag my sick son out of bed and fear that he might attack me and begging him to look at the video or else the paperwork I signed that morning. He told me if I didn't stop talking he would call the police. I covered my face with my hands and said "Oh my God" to myself and he yelled thats it. I'm calling the police. I just sat down and cried and waited for the police. When the police arrived, I asked them to please watch the video. The manager yelled at me to "Go sit" or he wouldn't show them anything. I didn't want him to pause the video like he did when he showed it to me so I stood up where I could see what he was showing the officer, I didn't speak a word, I just stood there. He yelled at me to sit like I was a dog and when I didn't he refused to show the video to the police officer. The officer asked to see my reservation, which I didn't have a copy of since they kept the paper I signed when I checked in. Without the video or reservation, to back me up, the officer told me I had to leave and take it up with him in civil court. I asked the manager for a copy of the paper and he said he would only give it to me when I checked out. There was nothing I could do. I went to my room, had a panic attack, calmed down, packed my bags, got my son out of bed and left. I still panic every time I think about this, but I have to warn whoever will listen so no one else suffers something like this.

No CONV19 Standards (.) If you value "BASIC CLEANINESS and your PERSONAL SAFETY, DONT STAY here ~ The photo must be 30 years old! The hotel stank of cigarettes and mold. Excuse reno's my foot! HORRID!

Good Stopover

Friendly and efficient check in. Room was large and comfortable complete with full size refrigerator, full size stove and microwave. Very reasonable price. Had to leave before breakfast was served but was able to grab a bagels and bananas. They are doing some renovations but it was still very acceptable.
