I was called Feb 27h by my sister in regards to my brother being shot twice in the back of the head. I live in Tennessee and packed bags and headed out next day. My brain was going 100 mph and never thought about getting a room. Made a phone call to my boss to help me get a room and she made calls and then called this hotel. With .e being an ihg member this worked out perfect and the jail was right directly across the street and that's where they took the man that placed 911 call and was arrested. Room was very nice and clean. Front desk was on point as well as housekeepers and the rest of the staff. Only had 1 issue and that was night audit didn't stand when I approached him and he did not have coffee hot and ready. Returning for the trial and hope to see the same smile faces to greet me. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We had to stay several nights due to a business trip. Hotel was easy to find. Lobby was nice looking, offering coffee and water. There is a restaurant on site that had good reviews but we didn't dine there. We were on the 5th floor. The elevator and hallways are like old bones. The room was on the end by the elevator and was quiet. The beds were really comfy and the pillows were nicer than the Hiltons. There was a fridge, Microwave, and coffee in the room. I loved the granite in the shower and the Dove shampoo and conditioner. Overall it was a pretty nice stay, especially since Portsmouth tends to be a little more of a ran down town. There was a gentleman who checked us in, he seemed new. It would go a long way if he smiled or was a little more personable. He wasn't rude just not customer oriented.

I love this hotel. Gave it a 4 out of 5 only because it’s a little worn. But the rooms are large and perfectly adequate, the staff is friendly, and the indoor pool area is great. It’s full of beautiful plants and is super relaxing. The best restaurant in town is inside the hotel, and there’s a friendly bar area.

First, most of the hotel staff was STELLAR. Courteous, helpful, efficient. My server in the bar was fabulous. The pool area is gorgeous and welcoming - much more than the pool. This property is an older property. It has been refurbished and refreshed, but the rooms are essentially as they were when built. As a woman traveling alone, I look for safety. While the rooms are all interior, the doors do not open directly on the hallway. Each room opens into an alcove. Rooms are paired. While this makes it nice to not be standing in the hall while unlocking the door, each alcove is a hiding place. The hotel has a side entrance that comes into the front desk. It is not locked, though. Anyone can walk in, and if the front desk clerks aren’t at the front of their space, a person can walk right on through. Inside the room I found a stained sofa, a table with sticky stains, and rings on the bedside table. The bathroom/toilet area is small. The door barely misses the toilet to open and close. The shower curtain is ragged and not big enough to cover the space of the rod… by at least six inches. Be sure to turn the bathroom light on before you go in and close the door… The blackout blinds, however, are awesome. Dark as pitch!

Hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating to the things I needed during my stay. The room I had was very clean, no issues with bugs of any sort. The bathroom was a little small though to where the door was right at the front edge of the toilet making it awkward to get in and close the door. The shower water pressure could have used a small boost and the shower would be perfect. Other than that, a good place to stay if ever in the Portsmouth, Ohio area.
