We are older travelers, but seasoned. we had spent 7 nights in Sayulita before arriving at Casa Dona Susana. Staff was friendly but English skills were a problem (as are my Spanish skills). With most questions it took several employees to get a clear answer. The room was not ready yet, so we went to the parent hotel for a quick drink. Bartender outside had similar language skills, which is okay, but he was out of draft beer at 2PM (little early) and gave us two pina coladas instead, though he had no change. The room was called a suite but was smaller than most hotel rooms and on the first floor above the dumpsters, in front of the hotel (nice greeting).. Great ambience.... oh and the rooftop pool was closed til Friday for maintenance (in 87 degree heat in October?) A main reason we had chosen this unique boutique hotel. We were permitted to use the Los Arcos pool, but it was very crowded and had lots of children. Dona Susana is adults only. Room amenities were minimal, as was hot water, The AC worked well. Yay for that. The property is quaint, and their advertising makes it look like quite a find. Their help in getting our return Covid tests was very good. The area where this hotel is located is outstanding. We had amazingly romantic and great meals at El Dorado and RiverCafe, as well as breakfasts at Maximillion and Andales.

The feminine squad at the reception desk, Tatianna to start with, is the real reason why this hotel is a real gem. Believe me, they will go the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable and exceptional. Please, give them all your respect and sympathy.
Short stay in the romantic zone

Great little hotel in a quite but perfect location to explore the Romantic Zone. Rooms are tiny, but clean and had everything we needed for a short two night stay. The rooftop pool was bonus and allowed us to cool off between outings. We thought you could use the pool facilities at Los Arcos, but they only let you use the beach service now. They also give you an option for a discounted meal at Los Arcos, but we thought it was too expensive, when there were so may other great dining options around. Very nice and professional staff all following protocols, but upon leaving we did find out that at least one of the reception staff has refused to get vaccinated. For the cost of the stay, this is a great option with a great location.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful, authentic, clean, and the staff was extremely friendly. This hotel has an adults only rooftop pool, with amazing views, and is perfectly located in the middle of everything. The location felt safe and I would recommend this place to anyone.
