Well build lodges with two beds each equipped with mosquito nests and hot water (huge) shower. This is not a 5star hotel so don’t expect maximum comfort but the experience is worth it: no air conditioning but charming and ecological place, fantastic view of jungle outside, direct access to the beach, absolute peace and silence that let you enjoy the nature noises and last but not least crazy people and abundant breakfast.

We had 2 rooms for 2 nights with our family of 6. The owners were very accommodating as our booking was last minute. This was actually our second stay here as we stayed here 2 years ago as well. This is a beautiful rustic accommodation that has screened bathroom, and bug nets which allow you to wake up to the howler monkeys in the morning. The breakfast is a simple typical breakfast with fruit and toast, tasty. The walk to the beach is beautiful. Again the owners were very helpful in lending us fishing equipment so the kids could try fishing. For those looking for wifi it is available in the lobby area and the first 3 cabinas. We appreciated the downtime. There are a few restaurants nearby, within walking distance to eat at as well. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is great! Rustic lodge/cabin in a beautiful setting behind the beach. We had a large family room with outside kitchen on the porch. We overlooked a lovely garden and could watch hummingbirds all day long, along with butterflies and huge dragon flys. There is short private path to the beach and when you return you can take a cold shower in the arms of a huge tree. The owners are extremely welcoming and speak good English and they certainly love their cats and dogs. The price includes a good breakfast if you want it. We paid $90 per night for our large accommodation, not sure what the smaller cabins cost. We were so relaxed here we didn't want to leave. We went over the border to Panama on an organised trip and they were very happy to look after our hire car for us in their parking lot. Its very quiet and you can easily get into Puerto Viejo for all your requirements, supermarkets, bars, cafes shops. The whole area has a very ambient feel to it. Highly recommend.

You are definitely in the jungle in this place.. if your squeamish with bugs/spiders this probably isn't your place. The beautiful beach & restaurants are close.. the staff were great. Very relaxing place
I wish I was spent more in a nicer hotel

I was here for one night because of a sport event. I was looking for a budget stay as I was traveling by myself. I wish I had spent more in a better hotel, I was not happy with my stay. It is very basic hotel, a little old and not well maintained. No air conditioning but a fan instead, I did not like the bathroom in general, the description says "rainfall" shower but it was not true, in fact the shower head was quite bad. The kind of bathroom you want to get out soon. There are mosquito nets for the beds which are certainly needed, this area of the country has lots of mosquitos. Staff was always nice, breakfast was OK with fresh fruit. Free WiFi on the lobby, which can reach the closer rooms.
