Small room, restaurant was closed

Avaliou em 10 de julho de 2017

We stayed here for one night while walking the King Ludwig's Way. We arrived at lunch time 1pm, but told Wednesday was their quiet day so not serving any food. The only option in the village is a bakery...not the best as we were hiking, so stuck there and hungry. Room was small with no balcony...comfy and with a good shower

Great food, nice staff

We stayed in "Gasthof zur Post" for one night. After a long day in Munich we were happy to find a lovely lady at reception and some amazing food at the hotel restaurant. All meat served there is from the family butchery across the road. Top quality. Breakfast was very good as well. We were lucky to get a newly refurbished room. Clean, good size. Nice place to stay close to Munich. Would stay again.

Quaint little boutique hotel in the heart of Bavaria

Yep, the guy that checked me in was wearing lederhosen. There are dairy cows in the back of the building. The rooms are nicely appointed however and the breakfast is good. The town dates to 1444. It is a cute place and something that would be great as part of a tour.

Should be better for the price.

Set in a small village in the middle of countryside just a few minutes drive from a nice lake. Free parking. Cute hotel and restaurant which falls short because of a lack of attention to detail. For example, rooms do not have any information sheets; so you have to go down to reception if you have any questions - but no one speaks English so my basic German came in handy. No English menus in the restaurant either and again no English speaking staff. In general, staff were neutral - not friendly. WiFi is poor and reception print out the username and password and it is limited to one device only. Breakfast was good - fresh jams, local cheeses, meats and breads. Selection of cereals. Yogurt. Boiled eggs. Fruit juices. Crossiants etc. Rooms: basic but clean and comfortable. No air-conditioning. Walls are thin and we were woken by someone in the next room having a shower. Overall, not value for money and we wouldn't stay there again. In general, we saw many nice, small hotels and B&Bs in the small towns across Germany and once just stopped randomly at a place for a night at a small hotel and paid €48 for a lovely twin room which included a DELICIOUS cooked breakfast in the morning. These type of hotels don't even have websites but if you are happy with the risk of finding somewhere on route - you can find real gems! We will be doing that in future. Just remember to take a phrase book because no one speaks English outside the cities :-)

Great choice for accomodation, food & location

Stayed here again for only one night, wish it was longer. We had a "new" room which was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was of typical "Bavarian" style. The owner "Herbert" welcomed us upon arrival. He was very friendly and helpful with any question or request we had. We will definitely stay here again as we have friends in the area. It is an easy drive to both Munich and the Alps.
