Disappointing customer service. I had to cancel 36 hours before check in due to Covid, but there was no flexibility at all from the management who stuck to their terms and conditions and insisted on charging the full fee. Their attitude was very unhelpful so I will book elsewhere in future.

Excellent stay, great food and friendly staff

We travelled from Emsworth in Hampshire, to stay after the Old Buckingham airshow, this sat. After about 1/2Hrs drive from the show we were greeted and checked in, with an a very friendly and happy way to our room, after a long day. The room(6) was clean, well laid-out, super bed and clean bathroom. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and bottle water was put out for us in a thoughtful way. In the evening we a pre-reserved table, had a beautiful, locally sourced, meal which was delightful. We were struck by how well attended by all of the friendliness staff, during our meal ensuring we were happy. The atmosphere was enjoyable and the customers light conversation, made our meal very memorable, one to come back again. The décor in the dining and bar area have a fair amount of racing car and drivers pictures and drawings.

A warm welcome.

This was a return trip for us and our stay didn’t disappoint. As always we were warmly welcomed. The staff are also friendly & helpful. Our room was really comfortable with a super king sized bed. Coffee and tea making facilities with milk in the fridge. There was even a little spray of sleep mist on the bedside table! The evening meal was delicious as was our breakfast. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely Hotel for a last minute stay

Booked this lovely inn on the day and was pleasantly surprised at how gorgeous the room was. Really comfy bed, sparkling bathroom and lots of extra little touches that made it feed luxurious. Very good nights sleep and so quiet, surprising as it's over a pub! Didn't get the opportunity to have breakfast as I had to leave for work before it started at 8am but was offered a take away - another nice touch. Thank you everyone at the Bird In Hand - you're doing a fantastic job.

Don’t bother wasting your time

I stopped here for food, after speaking to the bar staff I took a seat as requested so the order could be taken. In all it was very quiet and there were hardly any customers in the establishment. So there was no massive pressure on the staff to serve lots of customers against the amount of staff on duty. On taking the seat as requested… I waited and waited….after waiting some 35 plus minutes for the order to be taken… I went to the bar and asked again, again I was told …oh we will just be with you only a couple of minutes more (bar staff were quite snappy in their attitude I must add). I took my seat once more and waited again ….after yet another 15 minutes still no interaction from any member of staff… I again approached the bar asking about placing an order. This time the Bar staff were quite rude on top of the previous snappy attitude. Potential customers should not be treated in this way It was at this point that I walked out after wasting nearly on an hour of waiting with no service. I have since learnt from a completely independent source I am not alone in my experiences with this establishment. DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME HERE
