This was a one night stay on a drive between California and Oregon. The rooms was well maintained, clean and comfortable. I was happy to see the front desk staff wearing masks, though very few of the guests felt the need to wear them. This is even though it was required under California rules. I saw the housekeeping staff in masks also which made me feel the room would be clean. This location did have an ice machine working on the first floor. I have read that many hotels have turned off ice machines. As all Townplace Suites, there was a small kitchen with a refridge and freezer. One can make their own ice. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. It was well over 100 degress in Redding during my visit and the AC kept the room at the right temp over night. This room was on the top floor facing north. This gave me a view of Mt. Shasta in the distance. I enjoyed sitting on the small sofa watching the mountain turn pink as the sun set for the day. I would happily return to this Townplace Suites in the future!
I stayed here with my son after a long (10hour) day of driving and was pleasantly surprised with our room. Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, medium sized fridge, I’ve never seen a fridge that big in any hotel I’ve stayed at ;) sink, dishes, glasses and cooking utensils. Super clean. I have to give a shout out to Devin!!! This girl is awesome!!!! So hospitable, super on top of it. Watched her do about 4 different things at the same time without skipping a beat. I wish I had her energy. That’s the kind of person you are so thankful for checking you in after such a long drive. Will stay here again for sure. Oh and also no hidden fees+++ Thanks you Devin...
This was our last hotel stay for our drive back to Seattle. Since we had a labrador retriever traveling with us, we needed a hotel that allowed dogs. The Townplace Suites met all our needs. We had a king bed studio with a pull out sofa bed. The room and hotel in general were very clean. Comfortable bed, full-size fridge, microwave oven, and quiet hot shower made our stay very pleasant. The desk clerks at check-in and check-out were both very friendly and helpful. There's even a grass patch just outside the building's front entrance for dogs to use. The hotel is located in an industrial park next to a Hampton Inn, which appeared to be a relatively safe area. Now some pros and cons: The free WiFi internet speeds were 15 mbps up and down. Several good restaurants just one street over (e.g., Marie Callender, Applebee's). Pet fee was only $25/day (max $100 per stay) which was reasonable. The studio room was a little small for my 3 family members and our dog. With the sofa bed pulled out, the end of the bed is right up against the king bed making it impossible to pass to the left side of the king bed (you have to crawl over either bed). The bathroom was also a tad small with very little counter space for toiletries. There is free breakfast in the lobby starting at 5 am with the usual fare (coffee, juice, bagels, waffles, sausage, cheese omlettes, cold cereal, etc). Seating in the breakfast area is limited. Safeway gas station is located a few streets over. So in summary, this hotel met our needs and provided us with a comfortable stay while driving back to Seattle. I would definitely stay here again.
Good, with room for eco-improvements
Good one-night stay on road trip. Suite clean, firm enough bed, two choices of pillow softness, hot shower. Front desk staff pleasant and professional. It would be better with shampoo and shower gel dispensers instead of single-use plastic bottles, recycling bins inside and outside the room, and washable or compostable flatware instead of single-use plastic at breakfast. Grateful for plain unsweetened yogurt as an alternative to sweetened fruit yogurt at breakfast. I’ve almost never seen plain unsweetened yogurt at hotel breakfasts before. Loved it!
Stayed here passing through the area. Between the plumbing issues in the room and the lack of cleanliness, I was extremely disappointed in Marriott. I stay with them almost exclusively and there are other hotel lines that are much better than this particular property. I hope corporate steps in and rectifies this issue. Will not stay there again.
