WORTH A STAY
We booked this hotel in August. Although you do have to pay 3 euro per day for parking felt this was fair as we didn't actually use the car much. The hotel overall is extremely clean - the staff were extremely helpful even though we didn't speak Italian they were very accommodating. the receipt staff are first class both Diana and Larissa really put themselves out to assist and not forgetting Leon the barman who was quite a character. The rooms require updating/modernising but again were very clean. The food in the hotel made up for any small quibbles you may have - breakfast continental and there was something for everyone to have. The lunch and dinner were cooked to order and served to the table - we felt the meals were home cooked traditional authentic Italian meals. One very pleasing factor was the beach was 5 min walk away - when booking the sun beds for the week we were allocated a spot on the beach - this particular spot was booked for the whole of our trip so no looking around for a free bed - excellent service. If you're not fussed about the décor but want clean rooms and quality home cooked style food this is the hotel for you. I would definitely stay here again - we ventured around using public transport, bikes and walking so only used our room to change and sleep - ideal. Would recommend.
3 Star Hotel, Average
I believe a good hotel should be about offering comfort to it's guests. Whether it's a comfortable bed, bathing and so on. Unfortunately the Orizzonti fails in many of these areas despite the warm welcome from the very hard working girls in reception. The hotel needs to be upgraded with new beds and many other creature comforts. The air con was not working and the reason is that it's not hot enough. Well the owner doesn't live in the hotel so who decides? A hard uncomfortable bed and a stuffy room doesn't make up for the excellent smile and help of the hard working Larissa. The towels were like sandpaper, probably good for dead skin removal but a bit harsh in the morning, a toilet seat that wobbled around made for a very uncomfortable experience. Problems with the hot water, showering with cold is not funny. The breakfast is good, lovely fresh croissants and more than enough choices for every taste. Value for money? probably not, I'm sure there are better hotels in Rimini at the same price, finding one is another story. The free wi fi was very hit and miss, most days is was so weak that it was useless and other days not working at all. All in all, Larissa in reception made a huge difference to a very difficult trip. A 5 star smile and service from her made the hotel bearable.
Stay somewhere else.
First of all let me say the two ladies who worked on reception were lovely. Unfortunately that's where my compliments end. In brief no air-con and no pool! We specifically booked this hotel for two reasons, one it had air-con and secondly a pool. When we asked about the air-con which wasn't working we were told an engineer would come to fix it tomorrow. This never happened so we didn't have any air-con for our whole holiday. We later found out they don't switch it on until it's really hot, we found it hot and couldn't sleep at night. With regard to the pool there is one but they didn't fill it up until halfway through our holiday, but then it looked so dirty we wouldn't have used it anyway. Most of the staff were grumpy and it seemed like it was an inconvenience us staying there. My advice it you want to stay in this area is stay somewhere nice like 'Hotel Heaven' and completely avoid Hotel Orizzonti.
Amazing value for money!
We had a wonderful time during our 10 day stay. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and there was always someone available at reception to talk to. The rooms were spacious and clean. The restaurant within the hotel served a very generous buffet breakfast each morning, as well as serving 3 course meals every lunch and dinner. In fact, the food service was so generous that we often only ordered one course and then had dessert as well (of course!). The only problem was that towards the last few days of our stay the air conditioning was only turned on at 11pm at night and at 7am every morning. However, this was not much of a problem since the rooms were nice and fresh anyway. The pool was a luxurious bonus to an already brilliant hotel. All in all, Hotel Orizzonti offered luxurious service for a 3 star hotel, and it is the ideal hotel for a family holiday. Plus, it is only a 2 minute walk to the beach!
DO NOT STAY HERE
There is NO air conditioning. That's right- don't believe their claim- the hotel air conditioning does not work. We stayed one night in June 2015. The room was an oven. We asked the desk and a guy said "The air doesn't come on until 10:00 pm." What???? No air conditioning until 10pm ??? At 10pm- no air. One of the workers who will remain anonymous felt bad for us and told us there is no air- they just pretend it's not working. 3 trips from the maintenance staff- still no air. The manager, a guy, was obnoxious and apparently does not like tourists. DO NOT STAY HERE. You've been warned. Oh and the pool has 4 chairs around it. Yes, that's right- 4. Don't believe the picture they have posted.
