£4.55 for a lemonade and lime! Dismissive reception staff.

Beware. If you eat in the garden prices for soft drinks are not displayed on the menus - something I have raised with trading standards. Wine prices are on the menu but no other - table service only.. I queried the charge of £.3.70 for a pint of lemonade plus 85p for a shot of lime. The waitress said" everyone complains about the cost of the drinks". This is an atrocious price if you have children or drivers in the group. Additionally I went to the bar to pay the bill as I was fed up of waiting - obviously four customers made the area very busy. It was put through the till and I was handed the receipt. Only then did I notice the £5.00 service charge automatically added. Service was mediocre at best but largely because most of the young people working at the outside bar are given little or no training. Reception staff dismissive and disdainful. I raised the issue regarding the price of the soft drinks, and the issue of prices not displayed at . I was laughed at. Food is fine, outside searing area nice but the road is noisy.

Second time my husband and I have treated ourselves and eaten dinner in the restaurant. We’ve enjoyed the bar menu but the restaurant offers a different menu and does not disappoint!! Lovely environment, overlooking Woodchester and Rodborough common, you can spot a few cows roaming too!! Staff are friendly, welcoming and professional and the food and drink varied and delicious. We can’t wait to take friends and family as it’s always a pleasure. Thank you from fellow Stroudies :)

Visited with friend and family for a lunch, ordered the sharing ploughman’s, bit of green leaves, no cucumber, tomato, just cheese no ham, no pickle just some rhubarb relish. No pickled onions, stale bread. That’s not a ploughman’s!!! Won’t be going back. Had to move tables 3 times as plagued with wasps. Nice surroundings but the drink prices reflect that.

Friends took u shere as they were very pleased with the service from a particular waitress, who did amaze us with her chatter and information The food we had ranged from burgers to fish and chips The food is better than standerd pub food We also had a wander round teh downstairs of teh hotel and it was pretty impressive A very nice place for lunch

We stayed in room one, which is a beautiful suite in a quiet part of the hotel. The toiletries provided were especially lovely and we enjoyed a really nice evening with excellent service. It was a very pleasing stay in a beautiful part of the country.
