Only a short stay. Adequate enough.

We only stayed here for one night, as we were here on business. We arrived late at night. Check in was efficient, the guy showed us to our room. The room was standard. The air con - which you definately needed - was a bit noisy. The room and bathroom were clean. There were rubbish bins. Breakfast was nice, with lots of choice. The waitress' English was 'iffy'. Luckily, I speak some Spanish, but there is no point asking 'habitacion?' to my son. The pool area looked nice. The location is a bit out of the way, but I would gladly spend more time there.

Terrible management

Torrevieja does not have five star hotel, so we chose this hotel because based on their website this is a 4 star hotel. So, we booked a standard room on 21 March 2022 to stay on 17-21 July 2022. At the time of booking we wrote a note as follows: "Hello, Please MAKE SURE that we get a CLEAN ROOM, refrigerator & air conditioning works well, pool view balcony. Thank you". We also tried to contact them via email and whatsapp app to confirm our request but no reply. We were confused why this hotel didn't reply but we chose to be quiet and think positively. So from Athens, we fly to Alicante. Arrive on July 18, 2022 around 1.30 am. By the time we arrived there was only one person at the reception. Without saying hello or asking how your flight was, he gave us the room and directions to our room with limited English. Trying to understand, we carried two suitcases towards the designated direction. But we misunderstood. We went back to the receptionist to ask for directions. And again he just gave instructions without any effort to help carry our suitcases and walk together to the room like other hotels. Arriving at the room, the room is spacious, clean enough but there are no trash cans. Open balcony door, oh no! This is only half balcony with no chair. Entering the bathroom, we could see there's amount of poop in the toilet. We're really DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY to see this. We've been traveling from Asia to Europe and this is the first time we can see poop in the toilet. Then we decided to go back to the receptionist to report about toilet and balcony problem and ask for an upgrade. Without an apology he said he couldn't upgrade because the room was full. He also said we had to come back the next morning after breakfast. Then we returned to our room. The next morning we called receptionist from our room about the problems. We asked for the toilet to be cleaned immediately and asked for an upgrade according to our booking note. The woman at the reception who picks up the phone said there was a room with a terrace for an extra charge & will send house keeping to the room. Still no apologies. And still no house keeping came while we'r still in the room for 3 hours. Since we wanted to pee, we packed our things and went down to reception to change rooms as soon as possible. Then came a man in working clothes asking what's the problem with bad English and we reported that the room we got was not according to our request. Because the toilet is dirty, there's a poop that we can see if we are standing towards the toilet and we just got half balcony. His answer was... for a standard room there is only a half balcony and for the toilet it is normal if there is a poo. Then he laughed at us with his colleagues in Spanish while looking at us. At that second we knew, those who work in this hotel do not deserve to be debated because of their unprofessionalism and ignorance in dealing with customers. They should realize we never asked for a discount because we arrived at the hotel on July 18, or a free upgrade because the toilet was dirty. And we also don't want to mention why they don't reply to our email to confirm about half balcony they have. Too many things don't make sense and we're too tired to argue with ignorance people. So we paid for a room with a terrace and promised never to return to this hotel and write a review.

We booked La Laguna because it was close to the villa we stay in and we had two days before we could access the villa in Quesada. We are both disabled and were very shocked when we arrived that the staff refused to help us with our luggage and merely pointed at a trolley and said " you have to use the trolley". This was not a good start. Check in took a long time and we had to stand and were not offered any welcome at all and certainly no water even when we asked for it . It was boiling hot in reception. Reception made a big thing about taking another copy of my credit card even though I had already paid for the two nights in advance with the same credit card but this is the way they operate and so do many other hotels. No directions were given by the staff to the lifts or our room. The reception staff were continually talking to each other and not to us (the paying guests) which i found very rude. Our room ( nearly 200 euros a night) was meant to be a suite but was very basic and VERY tried and needed decorating. The AC was stuck on one temperature and could not be turned off. The bed was excellent. there was a fridge in the room which contained two very small bottles of water for which the hotel was charging two Euros each. I have never been in a hotel where there is not some complimentary water. We decided to go down to the pool. This was also dirty with dirty surroundings and dirty water. The pool backs onto loads of dustbins on the road which were overflowing so there was a occasional smell of rubbish when the wind was in one direction. The Pool bar was blasting out ridiculously loud music which they refused to turn down despite several guests asking. I went to purchase some drinks at the pool bar and they refused to serve me as they said reception had not approved my credit card. I went back into reception and the receptionist was really rude saying she had not had time to approve the card and I would have to wait. There were no other guests so what was she so busy doing. She then asked for my Credit Card again as she said it would be quicker if she could take the details again as she could not find where she had put my credit card details. At last we could be served at the pool bar but the music was still thumping away. Next morning we entered the dining room for breakfast but the lady in charge refused us entry because she had no credit card details. back to reception and I was told this was an administrative error BUT please could they have my credit card details yet again. Breakfast was good except for the hot selection which was actually very cold and served on very cold plates. Breakfast day 2 yet again the lady in charge refused us entry to the dining room because she said we had not paid for the second days breakfast. back to reception who said there had been yet another administrative error and she had forgotten to note that we would be having breakfast both days. The hotel was not bust so what do the people on reception do all day ? Overall this was a disappointing experience. The service in the hotel was poor and very rude. The hotel is totally focussed on money and not on giving the guest an enjoyable experience. They call themselves a "golf" hotel but there is no golf course anywhere near the hotel. In fact the hotel is in the middle of a residential area. We went walking to find a convenience store to purchase some water for our room but there is absolutely nothing within walking distance. Luckily friends of ours came to the rescue by bringing us a 5 litre bottle of water on the first evening. We had great expectations for the hotel especially as we visit Quesada regularly and thought the hotel might be useful in the future but the hotel is very poor and their attitude is poor. certainly the guest does not come first in this hotel. Guests are there to only provide money and otherwise are considered an inconvenience. Certainly our room was not worth the nearly 200 euros a night we were paying and the breakfast not worth the additional 10 euros each we had to pay. The staff need retraining on customer service and how to treat the guests in a nice way. The hotel is not good for disabled people as the staff ignore disability and refuse to assist.

Great hotel shame about the Spa

We asked for a suite which we got facing the pool. Very nice spacious suite and great location. Only two tea bags in the room though which weren’t replaced after the first night, nor were the shower gels and shampoo. So the next day you had to go without washing your hair.. We booked half board and I must say we were very pleased with the evening meal. A three course which was excellent on both nights. We booked the Spa. With a massage for my partner and a facial for me. I was disappointed at the Spa. You could barely make out the bottom of the pool. There were no markings where there were steps.. I found this very difficult as I’m not that good on my feet. What was the most disappointing was the Spa wasn’t even warm. I felt chilled. Isn’t it supposed to be warm? So consequently didn’t stay in long. There were plenty facilities in the such as sauna and steam room which I didn’t use but my partner enjoyed them.. There was no one keeping the floors dry so was a bit tricky trying not to slip on the wet floors in the changing room. My facial was spoilt by the young lady putting some sort of mask covering the whole of my face and leaving me lying on the table for 20 mins. I’m 73 and diabetic. I was getting concerned so I shouted out. No one came to me. I shouted what seemed ages. Eventually the young lady returned. I told her she was gone a long time. I was getting stressed. She said no. The mask stays on 10 mins so she was gone 20 mins. She lied because I timed her. She should have been hanging around surely. So that was not a good experience. The staff in the hotel were amazing. Reception very polite. Bar people excellent service and waiters couldn’t do enough for you. But won’t return unless they get the Spa sorted out.

Visited while deciding whether to move to Spain...made Spain very attractive!

We stayed in this hotel for a week while viewing properties in the local area with a view to moving. The room was very clean, the spa and pool were great places to relax after a long day of viewings...and the staff were uniformly friendly, professional and excellent, which really showed off their country in a positive light. there was a wedding in progress while we were staying, and it looked like the couple had picked a wonderful venue...it was also big enough to host the wedding while leaving plenty of space for regular guests to relax. Food and drink in the lounge and the restaurant were very good and fairly priced. The spa circuit is nice too....we accidentally missed half of the circuit the first time we visited (totally our fault-we turned left and didn't realise there was also a section on the right) and this was cheerfully rebooked for us to come again without any extra charge.
