Beautiful grounds, very nice staff, but some improvements are needed
The hotel grounds were absolutely stunning. The location was quiet and secluded, which is what we were looking for our trip while in Rome. The grounds are kept neat and clean and the employees were extremely friendly and pleasant. Nearby there are some excellent restaurants, and the Eurosport metro with parking is about 15-20 minutes away, depending on traffic. We booked 2 rooms for our family, a standard room and the Michelangelo suite. The standard room was very noisy due to the cicadas and although the windows and shutters helped, the door had gaps that allowed a lot of noise in. The Michelangelo suite has lots of stairs...stairs to enter the building, stairs to get to the suite and stairs to get to the bedroom and bathroom. When I advised Peter that the stairs would be a concern, he showed me alternative suites. We chose to move from the standard room to a suite standard and kept the Michelangelo suite for our kids since they didn't mind going up and down the stairs. Peter was extremely accommodating and upgraded us without any additional cost. I also have to give kudos to Michele who moved our luggage twice and was always very friendly and helpful. So what could be improved? The suite standard's air conditioning starting dripping and making noises on the 1st night, the 2nd night it started leaking quite a bit and turned it off. We advised the management, however since it was the weekend, no one could come and fix it. The 3rd night, it was leaking so bad that it would accumulate and then dump water in large quantities. We shut it off. However that evening, there was also a wedding and the wait staff worked directly above us and next to our room until 4am. The Michelangelo suite had a bad odor that either came from the air conditioner or the bathroom. We couldn't determine exactly, but the pipes also made noises. The other improvement would be breakfast. Breakfast consists of coffee, juice, warm yogurt, boiled eggs in their shell, cheese, jam, whole fruit, packaged sliced bread, packaged cornetti, and a sweet bread that tasted like it was day old. The variety of foods was fine, but the quality could have been better. Fresh bread or sweets is not a luxury in Italy. It should be standard in this level of hotel. Afterwards I read that a continental breakfast could have been requested for 5 euros, but I didn't realize this during our stay. We ended up leaving early because I couldn't sleep and Peter was very gracious and refunded our remaining balance.
Amazing, amazing place and staff
Cannot begin to say enough positive things about Parco delle Nazioni and the team there (Peter and Michael in particular). - The most gorgeous setting imaginable - Lovely, cute and cozy rooms - The most wonderful friendly staff - Peter was so friendly and suggested some great trips for us to take - Easy access to Rome via the metro If you’re renting (or have) a car, this is the best place imaginable to stay in Rome
Amazing property, welcoming staff
The probably biggest surprise on my this year's trip to Italy ... can you imagine to stay in a national park IN rome? Well you can ... at Parco delle Nazioni. It was off season and I was the only guest - but served so attentively and friendly you could not find better ... the room spacious, well furnished but with a very personal touch ... food good, the fireplace lit ... and the manager willing to tell all the historical stories ... I certainly hope to stay here again! I was on my way back - flying out the next day. But I can well imagine, how pleasant a stay must be here as a base for visiting the city of Rome!
What a gem!!!
