Cleanest and comfortable

We booked on arrival, the price was cheap and allowed us to stay for days with out stress, went across the road bought small grocery to eat inside our room that had a kitchenette with a toaster, pans,pots...everything we needed including a single plate stove. White clean towels, clean pillows and bedding. I will stay here again lots of places to visit were ten min drive away and a big shopping center a walking distance!

Charming staff-breakfast

It was a clean functional hotel, the building is a well renovated DDR house. The staff were very helpfull, very nice atmosphere. Wonderful breakfast. It was much further from the train station than we expected. Good quality for price ratio.

Ok place . But lack of willingness and no professional service at arrival

I booked a double room single use with private bath for 9 nights to the price of 30 eu per night stated. In the booking form that i wanted a none smoker room and I wanted to bring my little dog. i paid 10 eu extra per night for the dog. Booking was even confirmed and I brought the confirmation with me. At arrival I was told that I had no room because all the rooms for dogs was taken. And I should have listed that I wanted to bring my dog. When showing the confirmation to the receptionist told me that she would be in trouble with her boss for giving me one of the other rooms. And as usual Hotels.com and expedia didn´t bring the booking to the hotels knowledge I was tired after a long journey and told her that it wasn´t really my problem. I just wanted a room and knew that other rooms were free. She hesitated and then gave me room 433. I have special needs according to food and therefore depend on a fridge and kithenette and booked a room with both. Only to discover that the fridge and and the kettel didn´t work. neither, I immediately went to the reception to tell about my discoveries. The receptionist told me a little too quickly that it should work and couldn´t be dealt with until the next day. I suspect she knew it didn´t work and give me the room, because it wasn´t used at all. When back in the room i tried to take the electric cord from the room to see if the plugs even worked in the kitchen and bath. It didn´t. Back in the reception to tell her that she had to give me another room because the electricity didn´t work and I had paid for the kitchenette and needed it. Again she complained about the troubles she would be in with her boss and again I said it wasn´t my problem. She at last gave me room 429 and I thought I could leave it at that. Cons: The work-environment must be very bad, because most of the staff seemed very dissatisfied sad and didn´t always reply, when I said hello. I was given a smoker-room and it smelled horribly of smoke that they tried to hide with some terrible airfreshener. I don´t know if the smokers-room are looking different than the non-smokers. But The room I got didn´t look as the picture for the standard single-room on the hotels website. The bulbs were really horribly sharp and with no lampshades in the ceilings. The room was very dull and kind of depressing. I think I could have lived with it if it wasn´t for the smell in the room. I almost had the window open the entire time despite it being frezzing cold outside and turned the heater op. The tv was not a flatscreen as pictured but a really old TV, which where very grainy. There were no glasses for the toothbrush. I was lucky to have two glasses in the kitchen and used the one. The flush in to toilet didn´t work properly. The fryingpan was worned out and rusty. There was a very washed thin tea-towel and nothing else. There where no breadknife. Pros: It being a mix of hostel and hotel, I found it surprisingly clean in general. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, there was a little dining area. The fridge was clean with a little frostbox. There was a coffeemaker so you could make real coffee instead of instant coffee. It was possible to open the windows properly. There were blinds as well as curtains. There was a Cupboard with plenty of space and hangers for your things and even some drawers. The guesthouse was situated in an area better than expected with tram just outside. Netto, Lidl, Penny, Rosmann and Pharmacy. You just had to walk under 10 min. and you were in a litlle shoppingcenter and there were several backeries and cheap-eats around and a couple of restaurants. The wifi was working fast though it fell out a few times. Considering if you get the right room I actually think you get a lot for the price of the room. However I suggest that the hotel consider If they want to deal with guests bringing their dog. I surely didn´t feel welcome. I think that If I was treated differently I would have enjoyed my stay. Instead I had to lay in bed the entire weekend with a migraine from the horrible smell in the room and left on day 5 of my 9 day stay. Would I go there again. Hell no.

Bad value for money

We paid 40€ for a double room with no toilet. The room was very basic, the matresses too hard and the pillows too soft. They said the room had a kitchen but it was only a very old and very used sink and a small fridge. Almost no tableware and just a portable stove. There was a washbasin too but it was also very old and used. The common showers had no doors and nowhere to hang the towel or lay your clothes. The building is soviet style, very simple. Surprisingly the WIFI connection worked great in the room. I would not have payed more than 20 for the room and that's a lot for what you get. In the hotel website you can read it has free parking but it hasn't, you have to park in the street. Dogs are allowed but you have to pay 10€ extra for each dog.

Basic and Budget Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for almost a month during my visit in Rostock. I think this hotel is perfect for long stay with limited budget. There is small kitchen in the room with basic cooking facilities, so the guests can prepare the meal by themselves. There are also supermarkets around the hotel. There is a tram stop close to the hotel. Rostock downtown may be reached in about 30 minutes by tram. You may go to Warnemunde beach by tram too.
