Stayed here for a wedding . Room was ready and was good. Staff was good. Only downfall had to walk thru the pool area to get to the expo center it was very humid and you could tell lots of chlorine was being used. Once you get thru the pool are you can tell the expo center was taken care of by different people with seeing gum stuck to the tile floor in a few places before even getting to the wedding

Restaurant easily overwhelmed

Rooms and people are great. Restaurant, in spite of being booked for a major billiards event which included Allison Fisher, the restaurant was overwhelmed by fewer than 20 people. The buffet was unstocked and light staff was unable to handle things like coffee, toast... The General Manager was unhelpful other than asking if we wanted her to make the food that was supposed to be on the buffet that we waited an hour for. She said there was a staffing problem. Expect delays or eat somewhere else.

It started off with us calling for a room for 4 nights. We always ask if there's a pool and hot tub which they said yes. When we got there a few hours after making the reservation, there was a sign on the desk that the pool was closed for repairs. I asked the front desk clerk who was the same guy who took made reservation, why I wasn't told this when we called a few hours ago, and he said they thought the repairs were nearly completed. However the pool never opened the entire 4 nights we were there. (The hot tub was open.) Also, NOT ONE TIME did housekeeping come by during our 4 nights. We finally got frustrated when for 2 days they wouldn't bring towels, we went to the pool area and got some pool towels. On the 3rd day we also brought our bag of garbage to the front desk since housekeeping never came by. Also on the the 3rd day the TV went out. We called twice for help and each time they said someone would come to fix it, but it took hours. We wrote an email to the manager of the hotel about all this. I doubt they'll respond or even make any changes.

Very nice hotel, welcoming staff. Enjoyed it very much, left family a day early and we returned for another night 6 days later. Perfect mid-point between MSP and the UP Michigan. This will be a regular stop for us in future trips. The breakfast option is a great deal and knowing its part of the price, extra nice.

Disappointed, but not horrible

Chose this hotel because it had queen beds as opposed to only doubles offered at the hotel next door, where the wedding block was held. Completed online check-in and was just given the keys after showing my ID. Had to call for the Wifi code, which had been hand written on the folder that held the cards. Stayed for 3 nights, and found out on the 2nd day, only after going to the front desk, that you had to actually request any kind of service. Was disappointed this hadn't been explained when we checked in. Had to wait for the only person at the desk to run up and get some fresh towels for us while several people waited in line. No extra rolls of TP were in the room. Each morning (around 8-10), there was only luke warm water for the shower. Had hotter water in the afternoon but just hot enough. Everything was clean and the room was nice. The pool area looked very nice. The beds were okay but the pillows just fell flat, no support. Not happy with the bedding either. Attached restaurant was nice (no free breakfast of any kind). It wasn't horrible but would not stay here again. Just felt like they were trying to save pennies and need improvements on customer service.
