Clean and comfortable guesthouse/hotel in quiet surrounding.

This is a family-owned hotel in very close proximity (less than a mile!) to the airport "FMO" (Flughafen Münster/Osnabrück). Perfect for business trips or arriving/departing air travelers. The service is good and so is quality and price of the food they provide. Rooms are simple but very clean and sufficiently equipped (very comfortable bed, LCD TV, blow dryer, desk with chair, etc.). The only thing I missed was an in-room safe. The proprietors of this little country-side guesthouse are very friendly and accommodating and indoor and outdoor (large porch) serving areas are comfortable and inviting for meals or afternoon drinks in a country-style setting.

Friendly and quiet hotel. Some activity in a mill near by quite late at night, but that's probably due to the season; farmers delivering grain to the mill. Large rooms and beds. Nice bar and restaurant. Dinner was good, and with typical large German portions. Breakfast in the morning was also big and good.

We were in Saerbeck for business. It was just an overnight stay. Gasthof Waldesruh owner, Frank and his wife and I think a sister, received us very well. The restaurant that evening was full although I think it was only my wife and I who had checked in in the hotel. Frank spent some time with us explaining the dishes he was serving and then started a soliloquy on hunting. Apparently, this is an important sport in this part of Germany. Obviously one cannot expect a gourmet level meal, but the dishes were prepared well. It was something your mother would have cooked for you back home. The room was clean - especially the toilet - and although small was well laid out to give its guests room to manoeuvre. For those looking for CNN or BBC though, no such shows on the TV channels of Waldesruh. The location of the hotel is in the middle of a field and accessed by a winding 1.5 lane road. It's a nice drive and we will definitely come back no longer for business but for a quick holiday and who knows, maybe hunt with Franck!

Ordentliche Zimmer scheinbar mitten im Wald

Schönes altes Haus mitten im Wald gelegen, absolut ruhig, schöne relativ "altmodische" sehr große Zimmer. Service sehr nett, wir kamen erst abends spät an, leider an einem Ruhetag so das wir woanders essen mussten. Frühstück lies keine Wünsche offen, gut lecker und ausreichend.

Ruhiger geht es nicht - aber doch in Reichweite von Geschäftigkeit Deutsch - bodenständig Freundlicher Empfang, nichts auszusetzen. Für die Zukunft würde ich mich über eine Erneuerung der Zimmer freuen
