OK for stopover or business, but restaurant closed at week ends

We stopped overnight having crossed from Portsmouth to Cherbourg. Lovely reception, room clean and 'convenable', but although the location is right off the main road south and opposite a garage with cheaper French petrol than uk, it is a 5 minute drive / 25 minute walk into town for a pizza or restaurant and the hotel restaurant is closed at weekends. There is a Domino's in town which will deliver if you are willing to wait (especially if there is a football match on tv when everyone seems to order take away pizzas!) and sandwiches / crisps are available from the petrol station if you aren't. Good value for what you pay, I suppose, but we'll go somewhere else in future where we can get fed and watered quickly....

Very small room, basic accommodation

Stayed here overnight on a trip down to Bayonne. First disappointment, the room was tiny, mini bathroom, then the restaurant was closed. So tired & hungry we had to go searching for food. The bed was small & uncomfortable, clean linen but smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. It was ok but for the price I would find an alternative.

This was a very good reasonably priced French hotel. The welcome was very professional and efficient. The room was of excellent size sufficent to be able to keep my bike in the room with me! The bed was very comfortable. The range of options for breakfast was very wide and of good quality. However, 1, there were ants in the room. 2. Though it is called a Hotel-Restaurant the restaurant was closed on the night I stayed and the hotel is placed at some distance from the restaurants in town. 3. Also as with most French hotels/chabres d'hotes there were no facilities in the room in terms of making hot drinks. Also the 'cosmetics for ablutions' were very basic.

very pleasant welcome from reception despite being very busy. Restaurant fixed 18 euro menu well presented. Room bed linen fresh clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast buffet fresh and replenished when running low.

Accommodation clean & tidy with friendly staff and good menu in the restaurant. great breakfast & staff not bothered if you take your time & run over stated breakfast hours. good value on edge of town with easy motorway access & petrol station , shops etc within 200m
