Someone tried to break into my room & management did nothing

I stayed here over summer for work. The hotel is clean & modern, but I got a sinus situation every time I took a long shower (Like 10+ minutes). Check in was strange, new people being trained so I didn’t get the warm greeting I’m used to, but nbd. The valet is a pain, and the hotel is within walking distance of a ton of restaurants and such. (Brunch I would suggest literally anywhere but Hope - they’re rude & pretentious.)
On my second day there someone tried to break into my room in the middle of the day. I immediately called the front desk. Not sure they did anything because when I talked with the front desk the next day, the manager happened to be standing there. They had no idea of the incident, and completely blew me off. WTF
A few days later I was driving into work (like I said I was there for business) and noticed a cop car at the fire department half a block away from the entrance of the hotel. Apparently it's a half way house or shelter or something? A few homeless people were hanging around and looked like they had set up camp for quite some time. So perhaps that’s where the person came from that tried to break into my room?
Obviously I won’t stay here again. The bad parking/valet situation and criminal activity not being taken seriously by the hotel staff are a disgrace.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. I didn’t have any issues. It’s right in downtown St. Paul and it’s a new hotel. The inside pool and jacuzzi were fabulous. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3-mile radius. The manager, Sha’, was amazing. The customer service was great. This hotel is right across the street from the Children’s Hospital. The rooms are spacious too. If you have a car, there’s not much parking and I think there’s a $20 fee per day. The property offers free buffet breakfast. It was good and has healthy options. Next door is the Hope Bar which I also recommend. I definitely recommend the Residence Inn.
Lucky to be here!

My family got 'stuck' in the Residence Inn as we were moving from Puerto Rico to Minnesota. We didn't know anyone and everything was closed.
Needless to say by my property rating score, they didn't make us feel 'stuck in a hotel' at all! While doing everything they could to ensure cleanliness and prevent the spread of germs, they also maintained a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I have grown accustomed to chatting with Nicole in the afternoon and Tony in the early morning hours.
I haven't just been given an 'above average' stay while I've been here. I've truly been given a little home away from home - even without the gym, pool, breakfast, and other things that we generally think of when we picture a great hotel. I've learned that, like the bed and breakfasts and small town inns that came before larger hotel chains like Marriott, sometimes someone knowning your dog's name and what time you run in the afternoon is a better hotel ammenity than any hot breakfast could ever be.
It's been three weeks here now, and it's funny to say it, but I'll be sad to leave my little room at the Residence Inn - Downtown Saint Paul. Even more so, I'll be sad to leave the people that welcomed me into that room and welcomed me into Saint Paul with the better first impression than I could have expected.

I had a horrible experience with Nichole the front desk manager. I had a horrible experience previously and I was told to call back to make a reservation and it will be comped. When I brought it up Nichole remembered me and stated “no you won’t be staying at this hotel, if you had such a bad experience why would you want to come back” I asked her for Dan’s number (upper management) and said that the reason for coming back would be to show that the experience I had was an off situation and I would hope that you would want to redeem my confidence in the level of service. Nichole said “nope! That’s why you’re not staying here! Not at this hotel!” And she hung up in my face.
I called back and asked her to reiterate what she had previously stated and she said I don’t know what your talking about and it’s illegal to record me and she hung up again. The reason I wanted to record her is because Dan is extremely customer oriented and I know that he would be appalled at the way this person speaks to his customers. You would literally have to hear her to believe the way she talks, she literally hung up in my face just for calling to redeem the offer Dan made. I’m disgusted with this type of leadership. I’m going to contact a news team to follow the way she speaks to customers when she thinks no one else is listening.
It is an absolute embarrassment to the Marriott to have such a nasty and spiteful person representing this brand. Shame on the leadership team! Shame on you Nichole for treating a customer who had a bad experience this way. I never raised my voice, I never was nasty towards her. Horrible!
Very nice Hotel

spent two nights here and was impressed at the convenience of being downtown and still having a great place to stay that was more then one room. We had a kitchen, living room and bedroom and bath. free hot breakfast was included. I highly recommend this one. they also offer transportation to local events free and if it snows they clean your car off and have it all ready for you to get in and go. it was great because we got 10 inches of snow the night before we left and our car was clean and ready to drive when we left.
