Crooked Mgr, Dirty Hotel - beware!!
This manager should be ashamed of himself. I booked a room quite a long time ago to ensure I got the best price (and it was a great price)! I show up the night of my reservation and check in. Upon checking in I see that there is a light outside in the motel hallway DIRECTLY above my window. The light is intensely bright and is malfunctioning - it has a rapid flashing strobe effect. Even with the blackout curtains, the strobe light flashes in the room - absolutely no way anyone can sleep through that. I return to the front desk to discuss the problem. He tells me that the light has been broken for some time and he can’t fix it for the night so I can sleep. I then ask if he can move me to a different room, and he says he can, but there will be a $20 up charge to move me. Yes, that’s right, he has neglected maintenance and in order to get a reasonable room to sleep in, he wants me to pay an extra $20. How crooked can you get. As if that’s not enough, the hotel was about 20-30% full (basing this on the number of vehicles in the lot). He had plenty of open rooms that he could have moved me to, but chose to force me to pay extra for the property’s negligence. Horrible situation. I called Choice Hotels directly (being a Platinum Member) and they contacted him directly. He refused to even work with Choice when they called (what I was told on the phone). I do have a formal complaint started with Choice, so we will see what happens. I switched to a different hotel nearby (there are plenty). It was a good move. The EconoLodge was very dirty, furniture was beat and old, and the bedspread had stains all over it. Walls were all marked up, too, and there were dead bugs on the ac unit. See my photos I took before leaving. It was disgusting - so maybe not staying there was a blessing in disguise. I wish I could include the video of the flashing light outside. Everyone I have sent it to can’t believe that they would charge me to move from that nonsense. I would stay clear of this place. It was a nightmare situation, and the staff/manger was completely shifty and not at all concerned with customer care. I travel the country extensively with my work and family vacations, and I report to TripAdvisor on EVERY hotel I stay at - good and bad. I use TripAdvisor for my own bookings, and give back to the community with my honest and accurate reviews. You can trust that they are truthful and honest to my experience.
Bed bugs!!
Pulled back the covers and found bed bugs!! Immediately packed up to check out and demanded a refund. Desk clerk said they’d have to check with the owner. Will be disputing the charge with credit card.
Professor Holley
Booked a room and paid for it using my choice account. When my son arrived the woman on duty cancelled the and even changed the date of the reservation because I contacted choice.com when there was an issue.
Not very good
Check in went well & desk clerk was nice. We had a pet friendly, handicap accessible room. NO pet fee but had to sign a waiver. Room was close to the hallway end door. Issues: The room was in pretty bad shape. Pieces of tile were broken, counter had cracks, etc. Bed was HARD....like sleeping on the floor HARD. The room next to us had a “live in” family. There was a lot of fighting & yelling going on. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you. Can’t get any other.
Stayed to attend Army graduation
Ok, I will try to make this easy. Stay here ONLY if you have no other choice. The gentleman who checked me in was great, very serviceable and no problems on that area. But the rooms are very dirty, I moved the chest and nightstand and the amount of dirt behind them was unreal. The room was smelly (cigarette and moisty), the bathroom did not appear to be clean. I do not feel comfortable in bed because I did not think the bed sheets appeared to be very clean. Again, only if you have no other choice.
