No frills motel in a good location
My husband and I stay there because it was located close to Government Canyon and it was less than half the price of other motels/hotels in that area. Not having stayed in a motel in many years, I was expecting more. There is no coffee maker, blow dryer, iron, or ironing board in the room. They only have queen beds, no king beds, and there are only two flat pillows on the bed. There is a very small pool at the back of the property. I guess I've been spoiled by only staying at hotels, but the bed was extra firm and most of the staff were very friendly. All in all, you get what you pay for. However, I will never stay there again.
Horrible customer service
I was in a handicapped accessible room after the 1st room assign reeked of marijuana. The shower head in the 2nd room was broken and sprayed only against the wall it was mounted on. In order to bathe, I had to hold the showerhead up to point it at me. It was also so clogged with lime that the stream was 20% of what it should be. We tried to get another room and were told that it would cost $30 more. The less-than-generous offer of checking out and getting a refund for our 2nd night was accepted. The assistant manager was surly and did not seem to understand that maintenance was part of her responsibilities. Most properties would have apologized for the inconvenience and found an acceptable room, or at least offered a discount to stay in the lesser room if an alternative was not available. Not this property. My complaints were challenged as though I was the one being unreasonable. I was accused of threatening the assistant manager. There is a video camera available. I hope that someone in authority reviews the encounter and corrects the issues there, but I doubt it.
Don't feel very safe staying here.
When was the last time this room was cleaned? The desk has some sort of smudge on it. The microwave had, what was probably some sought of food substance all over the top of it. The bed sheets seemed stained just like the towels. Then there was the security. The side door on the side of the building at which I parked was left propped open quite often allowing just anyone to enter into room hallways unchecked. I had to wonder if there was some shady business going on. When I reported it to the front desk, I didn't get the feeling that there was any kind of true concern about the lapse in security.
Worst Customer Service I've Experienced
First off, this is probably the first ever review I've ever left. So I book a night online. It's late person at desk finally shows up and can't find my reservation. I give my card and get charged a second time (while asking if there would be a double charge). Response was "Can't find the reservation so they didn't charge you". So of course 2 charges. Call General Manager Kay who was defensive from the get go. First the reservation was a 'no show', then 'oh ya you stayed one night and only got charged once', and finally "oh you reserved 2 nights" lol. So finally just requests receipts so that maybe AMEX could take care of it because this customer service expert will not do anything. So she pretends to email me after several requests (I'm staring at my email while talking to her). She then finally says "it'll take a few minutes" (lol) and hangs up. If you see this rating elsewhere it's because I have to let as many people know how terrible this staff is and I can see why with this KAY as GM
Absolute worst experience of my life!!!!
Me and my two small children drove five and a half hours to get to this hotel. We were going to be late checking in so I called front desk to confirm my reservation and to also let them know that we were going to be a late check-in so they didn't give our room away. We arrived at the hotel a little after 2:30am nobody was at the front desk and the doors were locked I proceeded to call the hotel and nobody answer the phone I called and called and called a little over an hour had went by my children had to go to the restroom so we went to a nearby gas station then went back to the hotel and I called again finally somebody started to pick up the phone hang up then they would pick up the phone and immediately put me on hold and not say anything so we went back inside and called again... my 9 year old said he saw the lady at the front desk she didnt have on any clothes... thinking that he was joking .. because it sounded so crazy and absurd.. I continued to call AGAIN and then watch the desk..sure enough here came this woman around the corner hair all messy with nothing but a bra on.. she picked up the phone pushed hold and sat there smiling at the phone i began to knock on the glass door and she tried to hide under the desk.. i took pictures of this woman and will be in contact with corporate, the district managrt and hotel manager.. due to it being spring break nobody else has rooms available so for the last 5 hours me and my children have been sleeping in our car!!!! I AM FURIOUS and had many words for her as i left out of the foyer
