Excellent service all around
My stay at the Residence inn San Bernardino went very well especially considering current public health concerns. William at reception was very accommodating and made sure everything went well. Definitely would recommend the hotel.
Not a memorable stay
Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador level guest - first experience with the Residence Inn brand and it was NOT a memorable one. A few days before arrival, we used the Bonvoy app to do online check-in and used the chat function to request a quiet room with no one above us if possible. The hotel responded immediately to say that the top two floors were temporarily closed due to the coronavirus conditions and that they would block us on the 2nd floor in an isolated and quiet area of the hotel. Great. On the day of arrival, we used the chat function again to contact the hotel to see if we could check-in earlier than our stated time of 2pm. No one responded to our chat. Upon arriving at the hotel, Danielle - the Director of Sales was at the front desk doing check-ins. She explained that the room we were blocked for was still being cleaned and asked that we return after 3pm. She further said she would call us when the room would be ready - great service!. At 3pm she called to say the room was all set. We returned to the hotel and upon arrival she had our key packet and parking pass all ready. Wonderful service!. She explained that there regular breakfast was being substituted (due to Corona situation) to a grab and go option of muffins, pastries, coffee, and cereals. It was also displayed on an info frame on the desk. She said the hours for breakfast were from 6:30 - 8:30am daily. She also mentioned as of that day the local County Health Department had said that face masks were now optional; however she was still wearing a mask. When we went to the elevator we ran into two housekeeping staff members - both not wearing masks or gloves. The elevator carpet was filthy. The room (218) was a nice room - dated and in need of a renovation- but comfortable with a seating area, tv, kitchenette, King Bed and bathroom. One habit I have is that I wipe down all touchpoint in a hotel room during the current Covid19 situation. Marriott touts itself as having superior cloning policies & procedures. I'm sure the room was cleaned well - but some of the light switches appeared to need some work. The kitchen cabinet doors stuck to the cabinets - probably because they were old. Door handles were both silver color and brass. Room needs a renovation. We left for the afternoon and returned late in the evening. Upon our return the night clerk was folding fresh laundered towels on the front desk counter - not quite sanitary! I clarified the breakfast hours with him and he said that on weekends the breakfast is available from 7 am to 9 am (not noted on the display). That evening we were entertained by singing and guitar playing from the room next to us. Finally at 11:30pm we called the front desk about it and they immediately called the adjacent room and the entertainment stopped - Thank you ! Sunday morning we went down to the breakfast area and noticed a dark room. The front desk clerk asked if he could help us and when we said we were there for breakfast - he said "oh, what would you like - I have coffee and granola bars. We asked about anything else and apparently there was a choice of Fruitloops, lucky charms and raison bran cereal - not exactly some healthy choices. We asked about the English muffins, muffins, and pastries and he said that was not an option. So we just had some coffee. I mentioned that the sign display said something else as well as the hours error. He said the sign was wrong! When I said the sign should be changed to reflect the ACTUAL breakfast offerings, he took the sign down. Note later that day when we returned - the original sign was still being displayed. Also the morning clerk who made us coffee was not wearing a mask - and he was doing food service??? On Monday morning when we checked out a man was standing at the desk and asked if we were checking out. He asked if we wanted a print out and if yes he would get someone to "help" us. He was not in uniform and had no name tag. When the other person came out to help us, he also had no uniform or name tag on.Just gave us a weird feeling. I asked if it was a Marriott policy that all aempoyees wear face masks and he said it was not. The first ma who was listening in even said he had been "tested" multiple times and that the San Bernardino Sheriff said he would not be enforcing the mask rules so who cares. Again, I don't know who he was but I found the comments inappropriate. We had two upcoming reservations but we decided to cancel them and stay elsewhere. Note to hotel management: We noticed a man climbing into the trash dumpster and spending at least 30 minutes going through the trash on 5/11 in the AM. We think he used the tree to "climb in".
The Best Hotel Ever
I have been staying here at The Residence Inn since early Dec and the entire staff is Amazing. Staff goes out of their way to make me feel at home! Great breakfast every am & the Rimix is just Awesome
Such a great stay!
Our stay at Residence Inn San Bernardino over the President Holiday weekend was excellent! The rooms were roomy, clean and the beds were super comfortable. The service of the staff was great - accommodating, patient and took care of all our needs, and with a smile! Isaac, the desk staff at night, was kind, helpful and provided exemplary customer service! The breakfast service staff were so helpful and even remembered I wanted soy milk and had it ready our 2nd morning! We were so comfortable during our stay and felt at home. We would definitely stay here again, the next time we are in the area!
Staff was always friendly
It is what it is a long stay motel /hotel, clean room, good food offerings for breakfast and some nights at dinner. Staff was always friendly. Very close to lots of food places and Costco. I'd totally recommend this place.
